Who here likes drugs? NOS and propane I mean?



I am not trying to start a fight, I just want opinions on what you guys think, #2 only or whatever the engine can handle?



And for those of who you believe in NOS and propane, do you consider water/meth as a drug too? I do!



Do you consider twin turboing a truck, on say, a Cummins, similar to NOS and a single on a Dmax?



Obviously twins helps with power, as do drugs, but do you prefer an all mechanical, i. e, #2 only truck, with lots of air (and/or electronics) or prefer NOS and propane and water/meth for making power?



No fighting!

I prefer drug free, but whatever floats your boat...



I don't consider water injection drugs... water/alky is a different story, but you can buy windshield washer fluid anywhere pretty cheap... so it's not in the same league as "harder drugs" like nitrous or propane.

Drugs don't bother me. I say if it's legal, then use it. If you can get all that power on straight #2, then more power to ya'. You got braggin' rights. Nobody seems to give grief to the gasser guys running nitrous. Why should it be different for us?

I like the Twins and just can't see myself going back..... right now I could blown ANY single!



I like the water injection too, it really helps my plasma torch temps! Now having said that I've never dyno'd with just plain water, but I'd like to try that at the track!



Every time I dyno I make runs with #2 only to see were the fuel is at, then make a water/meth run, same mix, same situation and it is very repeatable. Now on the road I run plain ole' washer fluid as a 50/50 mix stinks on the windshield, but nets the same EGT drop..... or close. N2O would be cool to run but I have the picture in my head of scattering the motor across a bay at an event..... not good on my budget.



Drugs, yes I consider water/meth as a drug!

I'd define a "drug" as anything other than what it has from the factory. Since they come from the factory only running on #2, I'd say NOS, Meth, Propane et al would be drugs.



I'd consider NOS the safest and most usable drug. IT drops intake temps (and EGT) while helping to spool the charger(s).



You won't see me running anything but #2, NOS, or pure water injection. I don't like water when combined with the meth as much because it opens the door to knocking, which is really bad juju.

would just straight oxygen work as well? Your post got me thinking if would be interesting to hook a larg o2 bottle to the intake and give it nothing but pure o2. Or would thid be a bad idea? Just thinking if im way off sorry just had first sip of coffie.
 
Doug that's just dangerous, VERY DANGEROUS. Fires run rampant in pure oxygen. That's why NO2 is used, it's much more stable and yet still provides the needed oxygen for combustion.

With our diesels, we already have one power adder (turbo) so w/ nitrous now there are 2, unless you have twins, or water/meth, too---see where it can get interesting?

I see your point, but my point is that you don't see some guy running 9's in a Mustang and people discredit it becasue he has nitrous. That seems to me to be the case with the diesel crowd. If some guy lays down a high hp # on the dyno or runs a good ET with nitrous, he gets a * by the number because he ran propane or nitrous. I just don't see the problem. If the whole idea is to get the best number, then do what it takes.
 
I agree. It is pretty cool some of these guys are getting so good on #2 only. But why not use every thing you can to get as much as you can? There is a place for the purests and they can take pride in what they do but why frown on a guy caus he has real high numbers and low et's or full pulls caus he is running drugs. Lets see how high we can go then go higher. Doug

pure oxygen won't make a diesel too lean... neither will nitrous...



both will make a gasoline engine too lean if the proper amount of fuel isn't added...



the reason you use nitrous is for the oxygen. the reason you use nitrous INSTEAD of pure oxygen is because releasing the nitrogen atom from the two oxygens causes the combustion temps to drop considerably!



pure oxygen causes combustion temps to RISE considerably!!
