Kids/vandals - stolen "G" off tailgate

Well, this morning after dropping my wife off at the hospital for physical therapy, I walked around the back of my truck to notice the "G" in DODGE missing off my tailgate! Some *$@^&@! took what appeared to be a screwdriver and pryed off the emblem, doing a very nice job in gouging the paint in the process. Needless to say I was less than happy about it. The only bit of luck I had today was a local dealer had both touch-up paint and new emblem (yep, all 5 letters, can't get just one) in stock, so unless you look closely, it's hardly noticable. I just hope that this isn't like the Honda emblem thing, about half of the Civic's in SoCal are missing their trunk emblems. Amazing the lack of respect some people have for other's property #@$%!

Common phenomenon,

About six years ago the local retards favored stealing the factory nissan hub caps off of 94-97 Altimas , in order to pry off the nissan emblem and glue them on their aftermarket wheels. A common site is altimas of that era w/out caps. The kicker was the service guy at nissan . I asked for a set of hub caps and before i could tell him the model he had them on the counter,he claimed they sell several sets a week , i had just bought the car only five days prior. I was ****** off, paid $150 for a set of plastic caps. I hoped that *******s motor locks up some day.

I agree with the lack of respect, couple of years ago I had our travel trailer parked out front in the street getting it loaded for a trip. It was the end of May, school just let out for the summer an summer school just started. We live right across the street from a Intermediate School. I walked around to the side of the trailer facing the street an some kid had taken a red marks-a-lot from one end of trailer to the other. New set of graphics for me to clean off. About a month after that someone shot my truck in the driveway with a pellet gun, leaving a nice battle scar. I was always taught to respect other people's property.

I know someone who works communication support for a local school district. Everything must be mounted very high or hidden. The students will go to great lengths to cut or burn any and all wiring for just because. This goes for all grades.

Yep, I am an LAPD Officer and I have seen some of these idiots with the "G" hanging around their necks on necklaces. Stands for "gangsta". I would like to ring their little necks, but we are a "kinder and gentler", department now thanks to all of the liberals. Heck, the city council wants to take our big metal flashlights away. Sorry about your truck. If it makes you feel any better. I parked my 03' Laramie with 500 miles on it in the Lowes parking lot and returned with the passenger side door completely caved in. No note, nothing. . Just a 500 deductable and a week without a truck. The thing is still screwed up. Sounds like the speaker is about to fall out when I am driving down the road. .

I think they should have their south ends kicked also. If your man enough to have the kid, you should be responsilbe enough to keep up with what there doing. It chaps my butt to see a kid back talking their parent out in public an seems like the parent is cowing down from fear some nosey person would turn them in for child abuse.

Hope i don't offend anyone , but here goes . Buddy of mine and his wife use "time out " as a form of punishment with their son . The kid doesn't mind , goes in his room and goes online ,WOW . I'll bet he realy had time to reflect on what ever the reason was for him gettin' dicsplined . Half the time you ask why he was on time out and he has forgotten. I find it anoying when i hear a parent warn their brat with time out, its not effective on the majority of'em.

As a kid my dad would'nt hesitate to unload an asswhoppin' on a moments notice anywhere. Non of this you wait till' we get home stuff . After a couple encounters with my tired from workin' allday, short fused dad i reconsider my whole outlook on what was acceptable behavior .

My vote is that if these kids want to act like "Gangsta's" and prove how tough they are... ..... well then send em off to boot camp and throw them over in Iraq. It will either teach them to be men or get rid of unwanted trash. Either way I don't see a downside. Sorry about your emblems, but it seems to be a growing trend.

I guess all I can do is echo others' sentiments and say I'm sorry to hear about your trucks being damaged. I try to think that people in general aren't malicious, but there are a lot of kids out there who just plain have no respect for property or how much things cost. Personally, I think it's because a lot of modern parents spoil their kids rotten by buying them whatever they want. The result: no respect for how valuable things are. When I was a kid (I can't believe I said that... I'm only 27) we didn't have very much money (I rarely was even granted an allowance and when I did get one it was around $2/week). As a result, I learned to treat every material possession with great care, because if I broke it that was it. It also taught me to fix things if they did break.



Neighbor kids across the street leave their toys all over the street, with no concern for what happens to them. Case in point: the parents told me yesterday they had to borrow a snow shovel because the kids were out playing with theirs and had left it somewhere on the street and the overnight snow buried it. "We'll find it in the spring". WHAT? When I was a kid I was sent outside every snowy day to clear the driveway so my father could get to/from work! I didn't play with shovels, I worked with them! If I had lost one I'd have recieved a prompt spanking and been sent to my room. But what's worse, it would mean next time I'd have to shovel the driveway with whatever old broken junker shovel I could dig out of the recesses of our garage thereby greatly extending the time it took to finish the job.



My uncle has 5 kids who want for nothing. I hate buying toys for them because I know they will just break it within a few days because it doesn't matter... there's more where that came from.



My point is, I don't think most kids do things with mal-intent. They destroy property simply because they never learned to have a basic respect for how hard people work to afford things.

I think they should start up the "scared straight" program again . Drop your kid off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon . The kid will be shaking in his boots but he will thank you .

Here's the problem:



1. There is no man... he either left of never showed up...

2. Women have been told they don't need a man to raise kids...

3. If there is a man, he either doesn't care, is too busy, or just doesn't want to deal with the problems (these are the ones who complain to the school when their kid screws up). .

I agree with you all about a little "attitude adjustment" now and then!!! Seems like a lot of the kids nowadays have no respect for their folks. I tried to toe the line when young (and now too for that matter) because it would disrespect my folks if I fouled up.

I noticed in the dealer's lot there a several Rams heads missing off the tailgates of the 2005's. I suppose that will be the next "gottahaveit" amongst the little urban terrorists!!

And something else I've noticed, when both parents are working or a single parent is working outside the home, these kids will lay a guilt trip on their folks for not spending time with them and the folks will pay off like slot machines. No wonder the kids don't lack for anything!!

Really sorry to hear about the missing "G". It is bad and getting worse every day. The way these punks tailgate and aggressively drive on the freeway and city streets is just crazy. We were parked at Lowes a few months back in the wifes Honda, 1999 vintage, no dents or scratches, we come back out from the store and there is a big ole dent in the rear quarter panel..... like some idiot pulled into the parking stall and hit it. No note, nothing. Errr, I'm still pi$$ed when I think about it.
