On the 03, The MPC Grill Guard fit together and on the condenser perfectly. The silicon is for the MPC, I used contact cement & pieces of old inner tube on top of the condenser. I did not have to drill any holes. The whole process took about 30 minutes, but I tend to work slowly. I also decided to get these after my tech flattened many of the condenser fins. When I mentioned it at the service desk, they reacted, as it was no big deal. I told them that kind of attitude does not fly well with me. Not much of a response on their part. The combo looks good and has the protection needed.

To each his own, I suppose. I'm only relating the problems that I've had with the products. If you don't have 'em, good on ya. Personally, I'm not impressed with either product and probably wouldn't buy again, especially at Geno's prices. Bolt-on stuff should bolt on with no mods, period. Just my $0. 02.

I had the MPC grill guard on before I installed the Kilby CG, I removed the MPC, because I don't think its needed now since the Kilby overlaps the top part of the condenser fins. The Kilby Guard I received did line up perfect with the brackets hole. I got my window screen cut out and mounted on the Kilby CG using the small black plastic tie straps. Took it out for a run last night and this morning and have not noticed any higher water temps with the window screen yet. Did notice that window screen does get those bugs though. :D

KHogan: You are correct on two counts. One to each his own. Those two items work for me & evidently not for you. That is to bad because they do perform a positive function for me. I can agree that if it is advertised, as bolt, on it should be. Two, in addition, Geino's prices are higher. What I have done is if I can find the product & buy it from the manufacture or at another location at a more reasonable price, I will. That is what I did with the Kilby's condenser guard. I am sorry, but that extra money is better off in my pocket than some one else’s.

Also just installed the Kilby guard on my new '05... ... And at the time was NOT impressed that I had to remove part of the edging to get the mounting screws back in.

No silicone comment in my instructions either. No vibrations anyway.

Son just bought an '04 leftover (identical to my truck, except it's a 2500). Think we'll get the KG directly from Kilby and save $9 (I'll buy another filter).

I had some 1/32" al window screen laying around. Cut a 20x 24 size, gave it a quick spray coat of flat black and tied it on with 3 small zip ties. Looks good.

Yeah, I didn't realize I could buy direct from Kilby's to save some before I had already bought from Geno's. I already had damaged fins, so I rushed to buy the thing before I got any more damage. I bought the MPC to add protection to the top, provide a flat place to put a tool or two, and finish off the look. Regardless, IMHO both products are a tad overpriced for what they are. I wouldn't have cared RE: the pricing if they had fit properly without having to mod them (after all, the truck was just a shade under $50k MSRP). It's apparent to me, after reading the above posts, that had I NOT had to modify the Kilby's, both it and the MPC would have fit just fine. Why the Kilby's fits on some 3rd-gens. and not others (and not consistently within the same model year), is a mystery to me: someone's moving the mounting holes? LOL!
