'92 D-250 transmission help

I'm wondering if there would be any appreciable mileage/power increase in removing the catalytic converter on my '92 D250.
Maybe hit the local pipe shop and clamped a straight pipe in place? I read about the newer trucks getting 2 mpg out of the deal. Ya think that's possible on the '92?

Too much power is just right!

Your '92 should not have a cat at all. Cats were only installed in trucks manufactured from Jan. 1, 1994 to Dec. 31, 1998.

Then I've got a fluke.
There's a kitty in place. Appears to be factory.
I didn't know if they used higher flowing cats for the diesels or if it's the typical choker used on the other vehicles.

A tire iron through through the center of the kitty otta do the trick! Then just shake out the monolithic core.

Unless the great state of Texas require's a cat on your engine, I would remove it. I think you will see a noticeable improvement in performance due to the smaller exhaust system(unless you have changed)

I think your idea of a straight pipe replacement will be good, a larger system all the way from the motor to the tail end would be even better
