Any one running the Killer B and in the 500hp range? I have an 01HO as you can see in sig. I plan on Mach 4's, Edge drag comp and south bend CON FE. I do tow up to 15k at times but not that often maybe a dozen times in the summer other wise just 9k travel trailer about the same. Any in put or info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Randy

Like anything. It is how you treat it. You can have 1,000 hp just don't try to go over a 7% grade pulling 30,000lbs. at 90mph. Treat it with care and respect. No hot rodding from a start. That is the hardest on all components.

I dont know what the killer B is, but look at my sig and you will see what I have. I tow 12-15K pretty routine, it is ok in the flats, sucks in the hills. In order to stay up on the turbo, i have to keep the RPM up higher than i like. I prefer to tow with my stock turbo and hot rod with the B1. I am tired of switching back and forth, so twins are planned. Phil

Yeah, I'm ALMOST at 600 hp.

I designed mine to tow heavy in the mountains. If it will tow heavy up a grade, it will tow anywhere.

Towing 9000 pounds EGTs are around 650 on a hot summer day. Towing heavy they see around 1050.

throttlejockey,

Is there a Comp or other wire-tapping box missing from your sig? That much HP ain't coming from Mach 4s, a special Catcher, and airflow improvements alone. Your instantly famous if you're knocking on 600 w/o a wire tap.

Yeah, your'e right.

There's a few things missing in my sig, but I think I'm at the 350 character limit. :{

I have an old Blue Chip FMS and a big ol'e intercooler and an EZ..... but I'm scared of the EZ.

There's a limit? Now I have a new goal!

Glad we have a limit, otherwise some people's sigs would take half the page like over on the Ford sites where sigs include things so trivial as license plate trim!

not sure what hp im at right now but i get very hot towing 4k on any grade :{ im gonna guess my bhaf is choking my killer b but the temps are redictulas. im having to downshift into 4th on ant hills. gonna get intake done and see if that helps.

Watching in intrest. You can see my sig and when I hit Eisenhower tunnel with the Drag comp on 1X1 I'm in 4th gear with a feather on the gas pedel. At 12,200 feet I can only get 20 lbs of boost with 1200 degrees EGT. If I try more boost the EGTs go to 1400  . Now I'm thinking twins but maybe a Killer B would work  .

I am also thinking twins, but money is kind of tight right now. Considering the BD setup but not sure. I have read good things about their kit so I might good that route too. If I good with the HTT turbo I know Rip's makes piping to use this turbo as a top and HTT is in the process of making a twin set. It all depends on the money situation, oh ya and the misses :-laf.

I ran mine up to 500 hp as a single before I built it into a twin setup. I towed heavy with it often and didn't have temp problems as long as I kept it up in the rpm range. It could get a little toasty at 1600 rpm. The 24 valves do better than the 12 valves because you can turn the fueling down, you don't have to tow at a 500 hp level just because your truck is capable of making it.

Scott

Thank you for the info, I did plan on turning the box down when going to tow heavy. I am still trying to figure out which is the best way to go. Thank you to every one that has given their input it is much appreciated.
