HELLO ALL... .

I did my DOWEL PIN fix today,,,and come up with a few things that may help.

First of all I bought that gasket and seal an longer bolt through a CUMMINGS shop.

GASKET==#3918673..... $21. 88

SEAL==#3804899... ... ... $29. 88

BOLT== (8mm X1. 25 X 25mm)====#3900631==== $1. 11

This is about $30 cheaper then DODGE DEALER,,and gasket is ALOT BETTER then using R. T. V,,,(most people overkill when using it) They seem to use it as if they were SELLING it,,instead of buying it.

If using R. T. V. ,,,A little is BETTER then alot,,,a small BEAD is best (an less of a mess) an you don't have to worry about it falling in to the oiling system.

This info comes from the manufacture,,as they came to my place of work and gave a SEMINAR on this topic.

"SHORT CUTS",,,,As I read, that DAMM washer tank IS a real pain. .

So I just said lets try doing it with out taking the fan shroud off.

I DID cover the back of radiator,,(I already had my FAN OFF from freezing my BUTT OFF last winter) so that was a BIG HELP.

You can reach down over the fan shroud,,and go to town... .

"MY PIN WAS A-OK",,, I made my TAB... . One thing that I NEVER READ was YOU CAN'T SEE THE darn place that little BUGGER IS,,,,

I used a MAKE-UP MIRROR... . worked like a CHARM... I made a paper TAB ,,first ,,Just to get a great fit... . then made the METAL TAB.

Word of caution to those of you that HAVE NOT HEARD OF "MURPHY'S LAW"... . IF there IS A HOLE to drop some thing in (near wear you're working,,YOU WILL DROP IT IN IT.

Point of interest,,,,put a RAG OVER your gears,,,,because there is a hole,,just under where the tab/bolt is ,,unless you have BETTER LUCK then I always do.

Again for those that have NEVER done much mechanic work,,,when you do your SEAL,,,, look over things GOOD,,make sure you know where you going,,,as this seal is EXPENSIVE,,,"AND DO USE THE SEAL SLEAVE" when putting the cover back on... (Advice here,,,, have a friend "HELP" Hold the darn cover. )

SORRY FOR THE LONG POST. .

Hope it helps SOMEONE.
