Could someone please E-Mail me the directions, part number list, and a list of speciality tools needed. Also I'm trying to find the tools to adjust timing. Any used tools out there? Any suggestions on what exactly what I need as far as tools go? I've seen the snap-on set but I already have misc. gear pullers and dial indicators. What more specifically do I need? Thanks in advance for everything.

I've done some looking around past threads but what I'm looking for is a page or two of step by step instructions and maybe some good pointers on setting timing and installing a tab on the KDP. Someone has had to draw up a little instruction/parts list. I appriciate all the help and the comments. Thanks EXTREME1 for the post.

TIMMING - I have not yet attempted the timing, but like you I have shopped for the tools. The Shop Forman at NorthWest Cummins told me they do not use the timing kit. They turn the engine with the alternator (no baring tool). He said the bearing kit used with the puller was more trouble than it was worth. As for the dial indicator, the kit indicator screws on the injector pump, and without it you attach it wherever. It your indicator is not metric, you will have to do the math to convert the lift from metric.



KDP – I have not killed mine yet, but if you want the tab method, JoeG has outstanding instructions.
