Cummins say the problem is small numbered and directs you to Dodge,,Same crap they said to me,,Listen the problem here is the fact they know about it(both manufactors) and have a repair(front cover replacement),,So tell me why IF its a small problem has the dealer in my area done numerous ones already, service manager says mine was the first,a talk session with the mechanic revealed NUMEROUS others(seems like they turn over management often),,All I'm trying to get across here is its time to put the heat on the manufactors and make them admit they have a problem so guys can have them checked and or replaced BEFORE its too late,,Logical, don't you think,,Killer part here is,Since I do drive truck and our company is Cummins specfic,I know they are having NUMEROUS front cover problems with most of their other engines(we use M 11 and N14 selects),,Now these motors carry a longer warranty and the one I'm assigned(truck) has had 3 covers in less than 400,000 miles,,So with our 100,000 mile warranty, what are the chances of these pins breaking after the warranty expires, pretty darn good,,Its time for both manufactors to admit the problem and give us the opportunity to have them checked and/or replaced, not after they BREAK... .
