Hi TDR's

I have been following the Killer Dowel Pin mess for some time now. I have finally decided that I must bite the bullet and do something about the little @#$. I am a real novice mechanic... (havn't really done any real mech. work in 30 years).

I have visited my local trusted mechanic and he has agreed to do the work for me. However he would like me to make the "washer" for the KDP fix and get the cummins seal kit (does anyone have the part#). Can anyone give me the most common starting material to make the washer fix. IE "5/16 fender washer?" I have printe "R. ebel" picture of the washer dimensions. However, I do not have any way to measure ". 060 or . 063" thikness material. I have no way to set "3/8 radius or 1/4 radius etc". I do have a grinding wheel however. Is a 5/16 fender washer big enough to cover the KDP from the bolt? I bought one and it is only 1. 25" total diameter! Is a 3/8 Fender wash usable?... It is 1. 5" total diameter. .

Can anyone help me?? Thanks...

Ya Ya I know, I don't deserve to own this wonderful machine... . but I do and have for 6 years, I love driving it!

Thanks again...

Bob R.

Bob, . 063" is about 1/16 of an inch. I used a circle template to create the radii. For the 3/8" radius use the 3/4" hole on the template, and for the 1/4" radius use a diameter of 1/2". Can't help you one the washer sizes, I fabricated mine from flat stock.
