Need help with gauge install

Hello to all, I am also a newbe and need to know about that dowel pin.

I have just bought a '94 - 3/4T Std. Cab 5 speed. It has 100123 miles and I do not know if it has been through the "fix" or not.

With this mileage should I have to worry about it now?

I have been browsing the site and want to thank all for the answers on the leaking due to the air cond drain and the improvement of the AM radio reception.

Yes, you need to worry about it. If it has been fixed internaly, you can't tell unless you remove the timing cover. If it has been fixed with the jig, there will be a flat head 1/4" bolt going through the top of the cover just to the left of the fan hub when your facing the fan.

Walt,

If you can't get information about whether a preventive fix has been done to your truck you should do the fix. E-mail me to information about how to do the blocking tab fix. If you would like to use the jig method instead, get hold of illflem.

My pin fell out at 159,000 miles. It is a real problem and I got the pictures to prove it. If you can turn a wrench, you can tab the pin in a couple of hours. I would suggest that you take care of this ASAP. Fixing it after the fact isn't fun. :{
