Anybody have any experience with owning, shooting, and hunting with a Kimber 8400.
It has caught my eye, and I'am leaning towards one in 30-06 in select classic grade. Trouble is my local dealer says it will take about a year to get, as Kimber is slow getting things out the door.
My main moose rifle has been a Winchester model 70 in 30-06. Have been caring it around since 1974. I handload 165 Nosler partions with very good success. Very accurate, and the moose don't argue much.
There is nothing wrong with the Model 70 that a new leopold scope wouldn't cure but a new rifle would be nice, as the Winchester doesn't owe me anything at this point.
Being somewhat of a traditionalist I like a nice walnut stock. The model 70 style 3 position saftey is also a favorite. Kimber appears to put it all together very nicely in the 8400.
