Yea, but it's easy to remove.

If youre thinking of this pistol as a self defence gun, I'd leave it alone.

I have an older Springfield that's been done by George Smith while he was working at Behlerts in Pipersville Pa.

Awesome pistol!!

On the 45 Rowland... ... I've loaded loads almost as powerful with my regular ol 45, and my Tanfoglio carry comp 45.

Just got to have the right springs in it, and good brass.

The 45 ACP is an old low pressure cartrige. New guns that are on the same 1911 platform and shoot the 9x23 which is around 50,000 CUP.

The gun could take it... no problem.

Wellll now its a Toss up. It's between the TACTICAL PRO II or the STAINLESS ULTRA CARRY II

The tactical actually has only one ... O. K twoTree advantages. 1: Checkering on the strap AND Trigger guard  but 2:the other is 1" worth of barrel length. AND mainly a 3:Stainless Steel Frame (Aluminium ... ehhhh Granted its rated but)

Man I have read and read until my eyes are red. Thanks for the 1911 forum!

aburbach, any issues with ejection?

That question sounds kind of personal there Toolman.

I did have one jam early on, but I attribute it to the cheap magazine I had at the time. Quickly bought Wilsons and no problems since.

Only ejection problem I had was when we were out spotlighting for varmints and I ejected a shell into my buddies eye. But that was his own fault.

well Tool man what did you buy?

Tom, I can't believe you didn't tell me while Wendy and I were at your shop ...

I could have showed you mine while we were there:D

by the way i have a stainless custom ... try to shoot a box a week ... no jams at all with everything i can get my hands on ... including some handloads

Well I picked up a

Glock 36 Mainly because of it's size. It carries VERY nicely and I still do have a love affair for the austrian gun. HOWEVER..... There may be a Stainless Pro Carry II coming my way soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gotta see how the $$$ pans out for me first. BIG nut but Oh boy waht a nice piece.

It should round out my . 45 collection nicely.

good gun ... tried to talk my wife into one when we got our cc ... but she really likes her sw airlite . 357 ... now if i can just get her to carry it more often

Carrying a stainless steel Kimber Compact IWB; wife carries a black aluminum Kimber Compact in her (holster) purse; both loaded with 230 grain Hydrashock.

Very accurate, very reliable, though not the smallest carry Kimber any more.

Changed Kimbers since this post began...

I sold my early model Kimber Compact and purchased a 1rst Gen. Kimber Compact CDP in it's place. The CDP is fit tight, shoots better then some of the full size and most importantly... ... ... ... ... ... . the "melt down treatment" makes it so ugly that I don't mind carrying it :D. Check out Ed Brown's Kobra Carry if you can stray from Kimber though :-laf .
