I'm just wondering if there are any of you guys with the 600 engine using one of these. Out here in Idaho i tend to run into alot of bees and big bugs and they have already started to bend my condenser fins a little. My big question is that have any of you guys had any problems with airflow and such, i often tow a 12-14,000lb trailer at highway speeds and i'm worried at temperatures with the 600 engine.  thanks corey

I tow quite a bit and have one of these, I know they have to slow the air flow down but it's not enough that you can tell by the temp gauge, it reads the same as before I put the gaurd on.

yup, got one on my truck about a month ago. . the 04. 5 600's, require one more hole to be punched for it to fit Perfect... we test fit one on my truck, and he ran the next batch of guards with that extra hole. Didnt notice any difference in temp after putting one on my truck.

Get one now, before you wished you had. No change in cooling, with that fan I can't see any cooling problems with the guard. A bunch of bent fins will however reduce airflow IMHO.

I put one on my 2004. 5 about 12,000 miles ago and it has not heated any more than it did before the installation. I live in Phoenix and it gets hot here, but not the truck.

To keep the bugs - and cottonwood cotton, etc. - out of the fins, I placed some aluminum window screen material in front of the Condenser Guard. That's the best way I've found to really keep them out. The bugs dry out as you drive and fall off the screen to the ground. Once in a while I brush the screen to get the cotton and large bugs off the screen.

 Yep I would say you need to clean your condenser off a little more. :D Put one of them guards on there it will help and you might have to put some screen wire over it to keep em out too. We gots lots of grasshoppers(not to bad this year) and of course all them other bugs. I started putting some screen wire over the condenser when I got my 95 being doing it on all the others too. I got Kirbys guard on this one and its doing a good job no air flow problems.
