2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission KIWI Green 96 2500 4 x 4

Just wondering how many KIWI were built? I have seen very few, and none at any of the rallys. I am going to sell this fall and buy a 04. I have 67000 and around $5000 in extras. Hi on the net is around 17000 w/o many of the extras. When I first got the truck in 95 I had many that didn't like the color, but now that I have "dressed" it I have several potential buyers that love the color. I have had it at Dodge dealers that thought it was custom painted. Been very good ride!

I don't know specifically how many were built however, I do know they are rare! The Fleet Manager of Larson Dodge in Puyallup, WA told me they only sold one (at that dealership)... and it was a special order. Although he personally hated the color, after finally seeing it for myself I thought it was "unique".



Personally, I liked the teal color (probably not the correct color name) they used on the '97 Rams and '97 and '98 Dakotas. Although I have been told that color is "gay", I still think it looks really choice!





BTW, I'm straighter than an Easton arrow!

Very few seem to have any information on the KIWI. I did win a "best of 96" award at the Nationals in Mesquite and have many more mods now to enhance.

The most rare truck I have ever seen is a 2001. 5 Sport, in the Amber Fire color, or whatver it was called... I only saw one, and it was a 2500 LWB QC 4WD Sport with a CTD. It was on a car hauler, going to the dealer. Most likely a special order, too.



Any other rare combos out there?

A dealer close to here had a gasser 1500 RC 4x4 that was 2-toned - kiwi green and moss green. Not a pretty truck -sat on their lot for over a year before they bit the bullet and sent it to a bodyshop to have the center section painted. IIRC it was moss on the top and bottom and kiwi in the middle.



There's an Amber Fire Sport CTD running around here as well as a Dakota or 2 in it... ... I seriously considered ordering my truck that color but by the time I pulled the pin they had discontinued the color already.

My truck is 2 tone Amber Fire/ Bright Silver Metallic, and I know it's a rare color, as I have not seen too many out on the road. My favorite color is Orange, so it was a natural decision for me as it is close to orange. I wish Dodge would keep it in their color choice, but probably not to many takers, same as the Kiwi and Teal colors, I guess some of us just like odd colors.
