Competition dyno, what gear?

Off Roading Moab video

Post 'em here!

Here's what I have so far from people on the phone:

Denis (truck in sig) won his class (local-modified I believe) w/ a full-pull of 250' (track wasn't 300' long for this pull).

BBD had a full-pull, but haven't heard anything else... everyone was in a hurry to get off their phones and not wanting to talk to me!

Will post pics as soon as I get them!

Josh

BBD won by 11" over Psychostroker--both full pulled--I think BBD went like 238'7" and Psycho went 237'8"--was hard to hear when I got the call--congrats to both---chris

I don't think being out pulled by eleven inches is "getting spanked"

Lets see, a single turbo PSD Ford with a auto trans against a twin turbo 5 speed Dodge Cummins. I personally thinks that's a pretty darn good showing form the Ford. Great Job Bryan. :D

That was my first, and hopefully not last, truck pull. Took the whole family and everybody enjoyed the show. We didn't stay for most of the pros, since we still had a 100 mi drive home. I really only went to see the diesels pull, anyway. I'd like to attend one that was diesel only.

All I can say is Ho... Ly... **... . ! When the first Dodge, the std cab white one, started spooling up I could hear and sense the crowd thinking "These diesels just don't stack up to the high HP gassers. " And then he took off and everybody went nuts. Whoever was in the red 3G pulled that sled like nuts. BBD gave us a scare, briefly, but then tore the track to hell and back. And gotta give props to Psychostroke, very impressive. Surprised me that there weren't any Chubbys and only one other Ford.

The rest of the pics didn't really turn out, but here's a keeper.

That first white Dodge std. cab should have been Zach, Cummins4Life on here. From what Denis said, he too won his class.

Did you get a pic of "The Beer Wagon" and his distance on the big board? Would have been just a couple pulls before BBD went and should have been like 226' or so. Blue, extended cab. He said that it was insane how the red third gen (who I believe was Byron (sp?) off NWBombers) pulled with, but I do believe Denis beat him.

Anybody have any more pics? I will have some later this afternoon when Denis and Luke get back to Corvallis, along with video of Zach and Denis' pulls if it turned out.

as a spectator, let me tell you how this went down... ... ...

BBD went first in class and was well on his way to pulling the sled out the door and onto pavement when the sled operator dropped the blade and stopped Scotty. It also stopped so fast that the back wheels on the sled came off the ground:eek:

When Psycho hooked up with the Powerstroke, the same scenario, as the sled was on its way out of the building, the opoerator dropped the blade and it stopped the Ford 11 inches shorter than BBD.

all in all, it was a draw, both guys with full pulls on a short track.

I am sure that Scotty will post when he gets time.

good to meet Hoss and Byron Haner and a few other of you folks from up that way, we will have to do this again...

THE FORD GUY Oo. Oo. Oo.

Okay, I just DROVE Home (6 hours) :D Hold your horses here fellers no spanking going on at this pull, that will be latter :D No matter the distance we both got shut down and shut down hard at the door :D I feel the sled operator did the correct thing as it looked, and could have been a dangerous situation. Fact of the matter is we both full pulled and couldn't go all out for safety reasons, fine with me, the promoter never asked if we wanted to do a pull off, and there for we didn't. again fine with me, we would have had to wait till after the Country Modifieds most likely to have the pull off, several hours later.

Brians truck is ruining good, I helped him (slightly) last week install his new transmission, and he let me play with my new suspension in his shop last weekend, one thing Richard didn't mention is that Brian has started using the NOS and that should help him out some, however Saturday he could only use a single shot as it appeared he ran out of fuel for the second shot. We were both down on boost because of the 4K+ altitude. I was only making 57lbs :(

Remember we are in this for the fun :D so some of you guys who are taking this crap to seriously please lighten up so that your Internet words don't come between us.

I really enjoyed this weekend good friends, meeting new friends and hanging out BS'ing, sled pulling etc. We really made a great impression on that area of Klamath Falls and opened there eyes to diesel sled pulling, it was amazing the crowds around trucks after pulling. I was told by some of the wives that In fact, when I pulled it out the door half of the sold crowd left and came out to see my truck, then Brian pulled and the other half of the crowd came out as well, they had to go to intermission :D it was a great place to promote the sport and we all did.

I would like to give a little personal thanks to Gary (willyslover) who drove his GN trailer up in case one of were to brake we could get home, fortunately we didn't need it :D and Jake (dragdiesel) who provided me with some much needed moral support on my failed first attempt, I think I left a chocolate starfish on the drivers seat :D

Everybody who was at this event need to put a feather in there cap, it was awesome !!!!!

BBD

Luke's Video... sorry he didn't get BBD's pull or Psycho's... he ran outta tape.

Oh, and sorry for the REALLY crappy quality... he'll work on it for next time. No sound either.

First is Denis who won the local-mod 8000 lb class. As you can see from the video, he too was shut down hard. The 2nd to last is Zach, shot by Luke's Mom from above. Not sure about the rest... if you recognize yourself, say so.

Scott,

It was great meeting you and Brian this weekend. You are both great promoter of the sport, and of bombing. The two of you provide the something-for-everyone mix, with the two different manufacture of trucks.

I think part of the reason that Brian pulled up just a little shorter, is because you scared the cr*p out of the sled operator! :) You should have seen the look on his face as that door got closer. And it got closer in a bit hurry!

On behalf of Klamath Falls, I would like to thank everyone that particapated in the pulls. It was a great show!

I will post pictures of the pulls as soon as my camera battery recharges. I got video of every diesel that pulled

Byron has the video and he should be home any minute. I need to get some sleep It has been a very long day and Byron and I have quite a story to tell about our trip home!!!! It was quite eventful and not in a good way my truck is down but not out the broke dick truck hauler is also down but not out (we did NOT have an accident) we just had a FEW!!!! malfunctions I will tell you about it in the morning.

The pulls were awsome BBD and Sychostroker

Zacks truck was so cool I have never seen a truck smoke so much on the start of a pull in my life not even BBD. There was NO breakage of any kind by any truck (with the exception of one stinky clutch and one stinky torque converter) everyone went home under there own power!!!!!!

Brian I have a new found respect for Powerstokes Your truck is increadible!!!!! Thanks to Scott, Chris, Gary and Brian and the rest on the California crew for coming up and making it so much fun!!!

We have a few new pullers in our ranks now. By the looks in the eyes of a couple of them they will be back!!!

We had a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!

Try to remember this is for FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

I need to get my poke in for the twin turboed V8-92 detroit in the early 70's chevy pickup. I stayed to watch it and had the lady known how to drive it would have been really cool.

The Cummins crowd wowed everyone in the stands and it was a pleasure to see all. Good show.

Hoss, man I hope all is okay, when get up let us know whats going on.

Brad, no problem I would have posted the smack down if one would have been applied :) but it didn't, you just didn't have the facts yet :)

I would like to set a few facts straight. First off, both Scott and Bryan had great passes. Scott was moving faster than Bryan when he went under the bleachers, I simply applied the brakes. Not out of fear, just safety. There is no "blade" on the sled. There is however a pre set "pan drop" that is not changed between competitors. It was the same for all of the early classes, from 5000 lbs to the 8000 lb diesels.

Psychostroker definitely has something for the dodge crowd, as he has not even had time to fine tune this setup. Congrats to both for great hooks.
