Because he was riding so slowly, about 10:30 p. m. , not watching where he was going, rather he was casing garages, much more interested in what was in the garages than in where he was going. I reported him. Cops nabbed him. Good. :D

So you reported him for his activity, not his race, correct? Actually, when I did a ride-along the officer stopped a white guy in broad daylight for the same reasons.

Brian-Wrong! Because of the times we are in he had two strikes against him. One because of his "middle-eastern look", and two because of his actions. The second one is the one that set the alarm off. Right on!

Well, I wonder if a middle eastern looking guy casing garages in Santa Monica was really a terrorist threat or just a thief. Would any of us reported him if he hadn't been casing the garages? I kind of doubt it. If it had been a white guy doing the same thing would you have not reported him? I doubt it.

It doesn't matter if he is a terrorist or a thief. He's a potential threat.

Probably not. But I would watch him till I lost sight of him.

You bet I would. See 1st reply; THREAT!

Man out in the boon docks where I live the only thing I noticed was a deer casing my house. Didn't look armed but I had my gun ready incase he attacked :D

Pit, It sounds like you are part of the problem in this country today. You're one of those that probably shouldn't have a gun to begin with.

I think your right?? I hardly know how or when to use one. They tried to teach me in the Marine Corp and then again when I was a Cop. Of course I think your part of the problem :D Someone that doesn't know when a "post" is a JOKE. Duh

I have found that humor is sometimes the only thing we have when events, that we can not control, are out of our circle of influence. I wish that these threats to our nation and the world were not real. I agree that they are real. It is the correct course of action for each of us on a daily basis try to make the world a safer place to live. It just feels like that our freedoms and our security often seem to be at odds with each other.

Security

I really don't think that Al Queda has much intrest in small towns and the wide open praries. My place of work is a different thing. We run 325 miles of petroleum pipeline and a small fuel terminal. At the terminal we are fenced and gated. However the gate has been acting up and at anytime of the day or night it will come open and stay open! These guys are real lax about fixing it and have an attitude that it is not a priorty. I have to remind them of priority on the trouble report, under priority I put "9/11".

I really don't like big citys and large crowds. I think that is where you would be in the greatest danger. If they strike, they will want more bang for their buck! Bad choice of words, maybe?

Don't know

I don't think that a terrorist would come into my area with robes and headress on. I do think they could show up in my area disguised as Mexican/American and fit in quite well. And I am sure that there are terrorists that fit a whitemans descirption. I think that we as Americans tend to stereotype a bit... ... :D

Lets not take anything for granted, that is how 9/11 happened.

My area is 99% WASP ;) and we look at everyone else as a potential problem. Sad but true, if it looks like a duck it might be a duck and we watch ducks real close since 9/11 :( We watched Jap's real close in WWII, kinda makes sense, even though it might not be politically correct. All I can say is sorry to the PC crowd
