Impressions? The Kodiak retractable steps, good?, bad? flimsy? Anybody got these, what's your review of them? Also, if you do have these on did you rig a bypass switch to deactivate them, you know for times like when it's in a shop on a lift and the mechanic needs to open the door and maybe they'll hit the lift, or some situation like that? Thanks guys, maybe my next add on.

I installed one step on the passenger side for my wife. Two years of use and still works like a charm. Install was easy. I would recommend them.

I kind of like your idea of putting an override switch on that circuit.

I had one of their steps on my lifted CJ for my wife, it worked great. I have one for a driver side still (not installed) and would like to get one for for the passenger for this truck.

Nate

I have a pair of them on my truck. They have been great with no problems. Will recomend them to any one.

Kalaehina:

Mine have been on since a little after i got the truck. I have had very little problems with them so far. Any problems i have had, the factory guys were great with help. You can purchase any parts direct from the manufacture. I don't see much need for a switch, because they will stop if they hit an obstruction.

Putting them on was the second thing I did to the truck. The Rhino liner was the first. They work great. I've had absolutely no problems with them.

I did have a question about the installation. I called them and got the answer on the first call. I didn't use the supplied switches though. I found it much easier to use magnetic switches from RadioShack.

Even my 7 year old can get into the truck without help. That's pretty good since he's not much taller than the tires.

Thanks guys for the feed back, got a good feeling on these now. Have any of you ever have some one step on the step pad when it was in the retracted position like with the door closed? If so what happens? Will the step stay up or go down? Going to get them anyway but just trying to get ready for any situation. Thanks again guys, you know your opinions are worth gold:) !

Kalaehina, I just tried it on mine, and guessing, put about 50# and it stayed up.

You are asking this because you have kids right?!!!!!

Kalaehina:

The most important thing about the steps are the "COOL" affect. That's what you will get from everyone else!

P. S. if you need any help, i'm still waiting on the ticket.
