Thanks

Thanks much toolman for the posting. This will give others a chance to see the real thing. One thing for sure, it takes longer to wash than the 3500 ever did. Its sure turns heads when we drive it through town. Yes, we do enjoy drving around showing it off.

Saay komik was there an extra charge for the No chrome option?

This is the first one I have seen without a chrome grill or headlight bezels. Man It looks SHARP!

Chrome

ToolMan

No, from what I understood this is new for the 2003 model. They call it the "Business Class". I liked it better than the one with the chrome. We have some plans and ideas on what we want to add at a later date. I was after the larger tires and aluminum wheels which you can see I got. Most FL-60 come with 235/80-22. 5 tires, where as this has 255/80-22. 5. Its a much taller tire and should give a better ride. We are enjoying it, in fact we went for a ride with it this evening.

Nice rig Butch!!

Nice rig Butch! We were thinking about having a November lunch meeting at the new Janesville Hooters. Maybe you can bring it down for a little demonstration:D

Now THAT'S a crew cab. :D

My dad works for a company called Lift-All (a division of Hydra Tech) which produces and sells the aerial lift buckets and bodies used by most municipalities. Almost all are of Freightliner chassis. Dad likes them, but likes the new International medium duties better. Of course, he is running very stripped down rigs, and he may be a little biased as he used to sell the Internationals before he went to work for Lift-All.

Sweet looking truck!

November Get together

Weather permitting I could bring her down to Hooters, Maybe we could take turn and "Hoot" the air horn's! :D I have been trying to talk the wife into letting me put on a train horn. Also looking for a nice looking roof mounted wind defletor. Maybe add a few more lights under the full tank steps. I've been working at trying to get my GPS, Ham Radio and Brake controller mounted without drilling holes.

Sure is a pretty truck. If that don't tow like a dream you don't need to be towing it. And yes it sure will take a while to clean and wax that rig. :D :D

Engine

I failed to say that it has a 300 hp/860 torque being produced by a CAT 3126. If I have the ecm reprogrammed to RV mode it will produce 330 HP. So many options that can be reprogrammed, including cold weather operation, transmission (Allison), exhaust brake, auto shut down, even the cruise control has different programs available. I can see it's going to take a little time to get everything set where I want it. That's part of the enjoyment of buying this. Its going to be a long wait for spring camping to begin. Soon as the snow starts falling the truck is going into winter storage.

Komik,

Send it down here to Texas where we RV year round. I'll break it in right for you and have it all set up and ready for your use next spring! ;) :D

Seriously, that's a beautiful rig. You have every right to be proud of it. Congratulations.

Long Load

Bocifus

Not as much as I would. Here in Wisconsin the law is 60 ft for double hitch. When I was hooked to the 3500 I was just over 54 ft. If I were to add the boat it would add another 21 feet. I don't think the State Patrol would appericate it. I'm not sure what the fine would be, but just once I'd like to try it. Its sure is temping.

Well, we just got back from our first fuel stop. I reset the trip meter in Nashville when the dealer filled it. Now 844 miles later it took 72. 33 gallons. If my math is correct thats 11. 66 mpg. of course thats not pulling anything and running anywhere from 70 mph on down and most interstate miles. Not what I was getting the the Ram, but I'm not going to complain. Wouldn't do any good if I did, if I did, to whom?

Why, you can complain to us. We're an understanding lot. Aren't we? :D

Almost 12 MPG, that's not bad I guess. My 2001 GMC Yukon XL

gasser 8. 1 gets 12 MPG not towing anything either! :(

GM, wake up and diesel-fy the Suburbans!!!!!!!!! Oo.

:D

Hey Tool Man

What am I doing wrong? I can't get your pictures of the FL60 to come up. The fire truck came up OK but no FL60. Sorry to bother you and thanks for the help.
