All,

I have an 04 QCSB with a Kore front and rear suspension system. It's the "basic" system - I believe it is what is now called the "Pace", though when I bought it about 1. 5 years ago it didn't have a name yet. It has the extended springs in front and the replacement leaf pack in the back, with Bilstein's all around.

Now I want to pull a 33 foot fifth wheel with a pin weight of about 1500 pounds including the weight of the pullrite slider hitch. Does anyone know what's going to happen when I hook it up for the first time? How are the "softer" springs going to handle the weight? The "helper leaf" which comes with the stock suspension was removed when the Kore system was added.

Thoughts? Kent (Kroeker) are you out there?

My 5'er has a lighter pin (1300#) but my truck settles less with the KORE rear springs than the stock. The KORE springs engage right away before the truck settles. My truck is still high in the rear when empty - if yours is level empty it will be nose high with the trailer.

Thank you both for the input. I wasn't sure there would be a lot of other folks towing fivers with the Kore setup, so I really appreciate it. It sounds like a definite "Give it a try".

I have the RACE system in a 2002 (which includes the mini pak in the rear) and regularly haul a camper that weighs about 1500+ pounds. No problem whatsoever. I would advise E rated tires because you will probably push your tires harder than your suspension.

I'm running the Kore Chase with 35" Toyo's and no problems. I tow a 28' fiver. I did have to flip the axle on the trailer to accommodate the additional height of the truck. The Chase system works better than the stock camper package I had on my '96 imo.

There is a new Mini Pack that is available for the 3500 trucks. Comes with Longer U bolts and heavier Mini Pack. Not much addes expense for what it offers. I have been testing one on our 06 DRW truck for about 3 months and it will be a great addition to the KORE product line.
