as some may know my truck was stolen, however I am looking for another one. The truck had a 5" pro comp lift with those cheezy spring spacers and the powersteering box was starting to make a lot of noise. anyway I won't buy pro comp again. I was wondering if anyone has thoughts on the superlift, skyjacker or other similar kits, Kore and Kelderman are just too expencive and I don't really do much hard core offroading. I do pull a 5,000 pound boat although I don't really notice it back there.

oh and by the way I will be getting the same rim and tire setup.

I have the Kore Pace setup on my 05 and love it. This thing works great on the highway as well as offroad. I think you answered your own question in that you get what you pay for. The other kits are pretty close in design and you'll probably have the same problems. I compared the Kore setup with other kits and the price difference was not that much.

I would rather pay a little more up front then have problems down the road.

JVALDEZ, what tire size are you running up front, what does the pace let you get away with in width? i would like to run 35's because i wanna be able to go where i want and i also have the 4:11 rear end with a 6-speed, love the six speed but wouldn't mind a little better ratio on the highway.

I have the 4" superlift on my truck. I have been very happy with it. The ride quailty is the same or better than stock, you get actual springs(not spacers), and i thought the kit was very complete and had alot of thought put into to it making it right.

JTreas,

With the Pace system, like all of KORE's systems, we offer 2. 5 inches of lift, 10 inches of wheel travel and fitment of 35 inch tires. The pace system is priced as an affordable system that outstands the rest. Plus it is guaranteed for the life of the vehicle. No worries about warranty either. Orders are processed by DRC daily and warranty will be treated the same.

Can't you run 35's with just a leveling kit? I'm just wandering, I am currently looking for a lift also but want to run 37's. I'm thinking about the 6" superlift...

all depends on tire width and rim backspacing. I tried to run toyo 325/60/R20's (34. 5") with a 3" spacer and it wouldn't clear. So I went with a 5" wich is actually 4. 5" lift. The tires still rub on back fender at a full turn with moderate suspension travel.

Police found my truck and it seems to be alright minus rims, tires and my subs. the steering column and ignition are jacked but there is no body damage and the lift and my n-fab bars are still there. I don't think they even opened the hood. My billet drop hitch is still there and the key for that is in the center console. They replaced the rims and tires with what looks like brand new stock tires on generic rims.

anyway its good to have my baby back.

A wheel with the improper backspacing will rub on the rear part of the front fenders at full lock. The steeering sweep is increased dramaticly with increased offset. A 35 inch tire will hit with as little as 5 inches of backspacing on a truck with stock fenders. That is why KORE made the Weld wheel to stock specs. Stock wheels or a stock backspaced wheel will only rub on the control arm with the Goodyear 37" MT/R. We also went with fiberglass fenders to clear the massive Toyo 37" tire. It is almost 2 inches bigger than the GY. Add the new control arms and clear them too. Not only can you clear the tires but you can move at a higher rate of speed in a truck that builds confidence.

Ever been in a truck that was scary at speed on the freeway? I have! Not with the KORE stuff.....

I'm running the 315's BFG's on my truck. I have seen the same set up with the 35's and I don't think you'll have a problem like Greg said and he would know. I enjoy my Kore stuff and it does make a difference in the trucks ride and handling.

Cochran- I'm glad you got your truck back. Hopefully insurance will help cover some of the loss. Now you'll have some winter rims!

I've worn the paint off my lower control arms, and I have 35" Toyos. Not a big deal, but they do rub. Better than having the tires stick out of the wheel wells, though.

And for those that doubt the KORE suspensions, it's too bad y'all won't pay up and get one. Then you'll understand. I do not regret spending the money at all. In fact, I have never seen anyone with this system complain about it.

Cochran, Glad you got your truck back. I have a question about your steering box. Was it making a noise with the big tires? and is it making a noise now with the stock tires? My 05 seems to make noise when I make truns. I have the stock tires.

the noise in the steering box started after I put the big tires on and its only when it is really hot. I was driving in traffic in 117 deg heat. It does seem a little stiff even when it is cool. I don't think i will get a chance to drive it with stock tires. The insurance is going to cover the rims and tires so I should get it back with the same set up. I am taking it straight to the alarm shop and I might even put a giant eye bolt in the driveway to chain the front axel to.

Thanks for your reply. My steering box only seems to make noise after it gets hot. Not only at 117 but when i drive a while.

I will have to vouch for the KORE setup. I have a KORE Chase installed after wasting much time & money on BS leveling kits then lift kits that destroyed the handling and ride of my truck. I have driven stock 3/4 ton 4x4's that friends own long after my KORE install and there is a huge, huge difference IMO. Highway driving that I do alot of is very comfortable and controlled.

That said I am putting new tires on my truck after some engine work is complete. I decided to go with Mickey Thompson ATZ 325-65-18's on the KORE Weld Wheels I bought with the suspension kit. The dimensions are 35x13. 5x18. Has anyone tried this size or tire with a KORE suspension?

I previously ran Toyo 325-60-18's and they rubbed the control arms a little. That has been fixed with stops, no big deal just lost a little turning radius.

I will never race my truck in an off road race. I spent a bit of bucks to get a great ride off road. More specifically, washboard Baja roads. Many of the readers here will never experience those roads. For ME, I find the T-Rex (ok, it's an older setup) system everything promised, and very worthwhile.

Doubleclutch, I'll draft a basic rules list for class 8 (stock full-size), but when I get it done (I'm at work now, and won't get to it until later), I'll post it in the offroad forum.
