This is one of the first real discuusions I have seen here in last few years Oo.

Db do I get improved odds... ... ... I have Hella lights and a Defiant bar too :-laf :-laf

I grew up driving in the deserts of Arizona, Nevada, and California with a few underage runs to the Border. But I don't need to buy so many tires when I stick to the sand. :D

Bob

We took six trucks over the border last week with no failures. Only two flats, one was a Yoko and one was an old bald Toyo. With new tires and the right air pressures, incredible speeds are possible in your truck Bob. As for the odds, I thought you got pretty good odds... . :-laf

Bob your right, this is the best thread talking about REAL issues; until somebody starts taking it personal. I'd like to avoid the drama and keep the thread going! I love Tech talk with a little elbowing every now and then. It means your loved.

Not to be the kill joy/Father figure, but is anybody running a full cage, besides Kent? A cab on it's lid doesn't stand a chance under a Full size truck at speed, much less a full size truck with a Cummins.

There's a point were you just have to question what your doing with the truck.

Bump stop issue:

1) Nice set up Carli. I had asked Sway-a-Way if they could produce the 2. 5" bumps vs. the 2. 0 to help cover the weight.

After pondering the setup months ago, my thinking went a bit like this.

If your beating OEM bumps to a pulp you driving hard enough for hydro bumps. If your driving hard enough for hydro bumps, then you should probably have a cage in the truck. What % of people are going to put cage in their new Dodge? Nobody.

2) With that said, I didn't need longer urethane bumps to protect the Sway-a-Ways shocks. THIER THE CORRECT SIZE! Though a secondary suspension utilizing hydro bumps is still a great option.

3) Dezert bull, Will your shocks go metal to metal before the axel and the frame do, thus necessitating longer urethane bump stops in place of the stockers? What did you find with your previous set up?

Looser boy,

Sean

All my bets go to the guy on the left.

The blue truck in the photo has KORE's secret weapon; the man who owns it is KORE's secret weapon.

I know who Malcom is but, Who is the goofy guy on the right?  He sure makes me look good!!! :-laf

I idolized that guy growing up. "On any Sunday" did it for me. Looks like Glamis dunes does it for Malcom, but it's to pansy for you guys?

Retro, 1970, yellow and black MSR leathers are back in, in 2006!

Enough name dropping and side tracking. Back to the task at hand.

Black hawks have been around for a year. They're no secret... just cost prohibitive. Then again some guys wipe with $100's. I'm questioning why your using Blackhawk bypasses after what you found when you used bypasses the first time around?

On another side note. We just broke the top 15 most viewed posts on TDR. Somebody likes reading about suspension alternatives! This is the TDR that I found so interesting a couple years back.

And, we haven't had it closed down by the Moderators. I knew the suspension guys were more civil that the transmission guys...

So is his truck the blue hemi at Off Road Expo?

That is the very same truck at Off Road Expo. DRC built the truck for the Expo. If you saw it there, you know how good it looked! We were very proud of that truck and the Banks Sidewinder.

After Off Road Expo, Kroeker gave us some special parts to install on the truck. "Top Secret" was the terminology he used in talking about the new parts. I was very impressed with the performace of the truck, it was better than anything else we have seen as of yet. Even the Beast!

Kent brought Malcolm over to see the truck and he commented about driving it some time. I was thrilled!! Malcolm Smith driving a truck I built... WOW!

Malcolm, along with Baja legend, Bruce Meyers, of Meyers Manx fame joined the Kroekers for dinner at their house one night. The subject of the Blue Fame came up... . Again, Malcolm commented on driving the truck. Kent offered the truck to Malcolm for a week in Baja to test it out. Malcolm took the truck and would not give it back. He said, " This is the best off road truck I have ever driven. " WOW!!! Again we were elated! The next weekend I saw Malcolm at a desert race in Johnson Valley and he witnessed a trip I was taking in Big Red over some massive whoops at speed. Kendall Norman of Team American Honda was in the truck with me when Malcolm stopped us. Norman was quick to point out that my truck was just like his XR 650 race bike. "This thing is sick",Norman said, "the faster it goes the better it handles. " Malcolm then said" My truck is better!" At that point he had not even bought it yet. I told him that he better snatch it up quick before I came to repo it! :-laf

To sum it all up, Malcolm thanked me for building such a beautiful truck. He then contacted Kroeker later that week and bought the truck for himself. Needless to say, Malcolm Smith is just one of the famous people who have a DRC truck... ... Next one is for another celebrity... ... . Who will be next, I guess well have to wait and see. As for the KORE parts... ... Bullet Proof! IMHO!

All demand that DRC install KORE PERFORMANCE suspension on the trucks we custom build. Why, Because it is the best! All with FOX SHOX!

I have been reading this too, but what does it really have to do with suspension alternatives?

Fox internal bypass, 2. 5 pistons in a 3. 0 body. Hydro bumps all around ;)

Clueless!!!

How about doing a little R&D yourself and quit guessing? As for me being a class act, you have brought this upon yourself by trying to bring me into your nonsence. I have more ammo than needed here. I am ready to reload and drop another bomb if you ask again,
