Let me start off by first saying I was skeptical when Diesel Dan started a thread about Kent's new suspension system for Dodge trucks.

Needless to say, I have seen the light, and once I finally met up with Greg Boardman to take a ride in one, I was easily convinced. This system rocks!

Greg is now KORE's distributor for the area I live in, so I bought my system through him. In addition, if anyone needs one installed in the Phoenix area, give me a call, as I will be installing these systems. This system is unlike anything else out there, and 10 times better.

Greg made it over this morning about 8:30am from 29 Palms, CA(talk about dedicated, he was out the door by 4am his time to get here, and he has the flu, too!) so we could install this system together. Everything went together perfectly, and 3 hours later, we were out in a little test track near my shop, to put it to the test. Unbelievable. This system transformed by twin turbo beast into a monster.

After Greg headed home, I had to hit the road and drive into town for my other priority(work). All I can say is the on road manners calmed every spot I use to cringe hitting, and I previously tried to avoid. Now I aim right at it, and just soak it up.

Another plus, and I never intended this to occur, was the system fit with no modifications to my twin setup. Here's a shot of the shock mount and shock initially setup in front, checking for clearance issues.

I'll be posting more pictures in my readers's rigs to outline the system after installation. I need to clean it up first, it got a little muddy tonight on my way home with my kids. We found a small detour on our way home.

And yes Greg, my daughter was laughing while we were blasting through it. All my son said was, uh oh! See he was with me when I met up with Greg in Blythe, AZ to pick up a new dirtbike for him, and we went for a ride in Greg's through the Arizona desert.

Congrats! The testimonials bring tears to my eyes, or maybe it's the old concrete highway coming home from work! I am so envious, I will definitely consider smaller tires at the next change to be able to consider this kit. Jealousy is ugly, but it can be overcome with money!

Hello Fred

I was excited when i first found out about the T-rex system. But i had no clue it was as good as it is. I am sooooooo glad i called Kent and invited him to our So cal get together. That was one E ticket ride for sure. (very similar to the rides you get with Greg i am sure)It was there i realized the holy grail of syspension was born. Thanks to Kents parents for doing their part and producing Kent!!!!!! (HaHa)

I am glad you love it as much as everyone else. I sure do

Best regards

DD

Well, I finally got around to getting some shots of the system installed. It's a little sunny today, so there is some glare on the shots. I also have these in my Reader's Rig's.

Hey, I DO NOT want to come down to Phoenix to see you again! Every time I do I spend WAAAYYYYY too much money!

Shoot, now I'm gonna have to come down there and get a ride in that thing... twins, KORE, etc... :D

Looks good Fred!

Anyone have the T-rex suspension and pull a goose neck trailer? I've been looking at this suspension for a year now and I am very interested in buying it, but bottom line is will it hold up under the weight of a 25,000lb load of hay? I do quite a bit of off roading through fields and lots of very rough and winding gravel and semi paved roads and most of the time this is done with little weight but I will also need something that will handle the loads out on the highway for those hauling jobs.

I need something that I can break 5mph through the fields and rough roads. Right now I have to pretty much put the truck in 1st or 2nd and just let it idle it's way through. I know the suspension will work great under these conditions but it's the ride under a heavy load I'm worried about. I'm not looking fo a car like ride (I bought a 3/4 ton truck and know that) I'm looking for something heavy and strong That will handle some off road action and still handle a loaded trailer.

Thanks

DB

I'm looking for the same ability- handle better empty on and off road, and handle the weight of a trailer. I figure that I will keep the airbags for that, I like the ability to adjust the overload capacity without full-time overload spring harshness. As soon as I finish the quest for HP, I'll tackle the suspension (AGAIN!)

Greg,

How did it handle the trailer? Does it handle it as good as stock? I'm hauling around a lot more weight than the stock trailer but every bit of info helps. :)

I little harshness unloaded doesn't bother me on the road. I have overloads and the swaybar on the truck now along with the snowplow springs up front so the truck is stiff on the highway as is and that doesn't bother me a bit. What does bother me is the nose diving when cornering hard and the backend wanting to come around on the bigger bumps. I just need a better ride while romping in the bush while hunting and working around the farm and a little help in the corners and big chuck holes on the hwy.

I have never pulled a gooseneck or 5th wheel but I have been as high as 19,000 with a bumper pull

I ran my early T-rex system both with and without the mini leafs and I don't think you lose anything by replacing the stock overloads with the mini leafs, my truck with the camper loaded sits higher with the mini packs than it did stock. My truck with the Kore system handles 3500lbs in the bed better than stock, pulling a 10,000lb bumper pull trailer it is better than stock, hauling my camper is much better also. I don't think I gained much speed down in the 5 to 15 mph range empty, 25mph or so is where it really starts to work well. The loaded ride improved quite a bit at lower speeds but the trailer suspension usually limits speed when towing off road. I spent a few days in my brothers '96 F150 4x4 in the fields feeding buffalo and at low speeds mine is definitely rougher, by 30 mph mine is better and by 45mph on washboards it's MUCH better.

I have not found any situation towing any trailer, hauling any load of any kind, loaded or empty where the KORE system was not better than stock, I feel you give up nothing, get small gains at low speeds and make huge gains in both handling and ride at speeds over 35 mph both on and off road loaded or empty.

Hey Greg, I took Jason for a ride last night to show what the system does, and he said you did the same, only pulling the GN along for the ride. Yeah, that sounds like Greg!

KORE on the GN, hmmm!

i've had the trex/kore? system on for a while now and had gotten pretty used to it. Well the other day I decide to ride up with a buddy to test drive an 05 cummins he had his eye on. Lord have mercy! I forgot how much of a difference this kit makes. I really couldnt stand to be in the 05, it felt like a 70's truck compared to mine.

FDavid,

Nice Supra. What size turbo do you run on that thing and how much boost? Got any track times with that thing? Always thought Supras were very cool cars. I run a GT-67 turbo on my 87 GN pushing 23 psi boost. No times yet, but coming soon. Will be shooting for 7. 00-7. 30's in the 1/8th mile. BTW. I really want that KORE system on my truck, just have to convince the wife on the price.

Those Supras are exceptions. Probably more of a race car other than a street car. I just wanted to know about your car. I can send you to threads everywhere with cars faster than those Supras. Just curious about your car, that's all. Any info? Thanks.

Okay, keep the "Supras" in a separate thread. No hijaking allowed here.

FDavid, I know what you mean about driving/riding in a non KORE prepped truck. I do it just about every weekend, driving customers trucks.

There just is no comparison.
