Greetings all, I am looking at the KORE RECON kit for my 03 4x4 dually. Been looking at the Kelderman system as well... Has anyone installed one of thee kits on their dually ?

I talked to the folks at KORE today, and they said this kit would really smooth out the ride empty as well as loaded. I am a bit concerned as the kit raises the front 2" and the rear 1"... May be a problem with my fiver, as my rig has a light pin weight, and these trucks are tall in the rear anyway...

I could have written that word for word, except mine is an 04. 5. I'd love to see an actual measurement from someone who has put this on a 3500 dually, my main concern is also my fifth wheel, I'm already close to my comfort zone on it. I've always thought that a levelling kit would bring down the rear a bit, but I get a headache trying to figure it out, so I'm wondering if this is taken into account on the 1" raise in the back? I do understand that Kore has a leveling kit, but I'd just as soon get the whole thing, dependinng on the 1" raise.

Thanks- Scott

I have KORE suspension on my dually. It's the set that was previously called "Chase" - not sure what that kit is called now. My set has the Bilstein 7100 shocks, and I also got the mini-paks for the rear leafs.

The added height in the rear is solely because of the difference in the leaf pack thickness. (This statement applies to the rear mini-pak setup only, and obviously doesn't hold for KORE's new, full rear spring setup. ) There's no additional 'arcing' of the stock leaves to create added lift. My measurement has the extra height at just over 3/4-inch - on my truck. If I read the propaganda correctly, KORE is stating about 1-inch rear lift. (not too much variance there... ) The overload leaves are removed, the mini-paks are added, and the difference in thickness from the removed parts vs. the added leaf packs is what makes up the extra lift in the rear.

I don't tow a fifth-wheel, so the added height doesn't affect me in that respect. If you think the extra inch will hurt your hitching capability, you should call KORE and discuss it. The load carrying capacity will also be affected, since the stock overload leaves are removed.

I will say that the ride is worth it.

Hope this helps,

John

Hi Guys,

I have an 06 dually and will be installing a KORE system later this weekend. I will be posting some measurments on the change in ride height. As for the load carrying capabilities, only the Lance Camper crowd has seen any issues towing with the Mini Pak. Feel free to call and pick my brain for answers.

I have the core Chase system on my dually and it is a night and day difference... Well worth the money!

Cheers, Bill

Hey Greg, are you installing the RECON or CHASE Kit ? There is about a $500 difference in price between the 2 kits. What does the Chase kit deliver vs. the RECON ?

A PM to BajaBob would clear up this statement.
