Ok, here's a picture

Well all, I've finally learned how to post a picture. Here is my rig after 6 washes (no scratches, peeling etc... )

Paint Update

After reading this thread I decided to give this stuff a try.

After 5,000 miles in the last 2 months I can say that this stuff holds up pretty d---- well. I've peeled all kinds of bugs and one bird off the once grey trim surrounding my bumper.

I use a soft bristle RV brush for the front end and it doesn't scratch this paint.

** I will offer this. I use Castrol Super Cleaner to remove road grime and gunk from the chromed sections of the bumper and underneath the truck. This stuff takes the satin finish off of this paint and leaves a flat finish.

I have just touched up the trim and decided to test the adhesion properties on the powder coated winch mount/grill guard. I'll post again once I see how it holds up on non-plastic parts.

My truck is the same green as Wiredawgs. Black and green make a terriffic combination!

Update on Durability??

Wiredawg- It's been about 6 months or so since you painted the valance. I'm curious to know how its holding up with winter and time.

DK,

The picture my readers rig is recent. I have not had to repaint the trim. I will be painting the top partof the bumper cover once it warms up again.

As harsh as the Castrol Cleaner/Degreaser is on powder coated finishes (turns gloss into matte), my Fusion painted areas are still looking good.

Paint is still good!

Paint is still good, even after scraping some these small birds sized bugs off here in TX.

I'm thinking about painting the bumper cap as it is fading. Probably do that before heading to May Madness.

Thanks for the updates. I've painted a few things with it and haven't had any problems either, but the front valance takes more of a beating than what I've done.

Kev

Wiredawg,

Did you use gloss black? Is there a satin black or semi gloss black? I can find only gloss black. I guess that is all Kylon makes. All their site says is 16 colors not what colors.

I painted my APPS cover, the PDC cover and the fuel filter cap on my truck. Its all holding up fine. The only plastic I have found that it does not stick to well was my rubbermaid garbage can lid.

I just talked to Kylon and they are making a satin black in Fusion. :D Oo. It has not been shipped yet, but should be in the stores by the middle of March.

I plan on using the stuff to convert my recently acquired white firestik cb antenna to a nice gloss black. Should look good.
