Hey fellas, a quick question for the experts on engines, I bought a Kubota L 2000 with low hours on it. It has set for 10 years and has a blow by problem. What should I add to the oil? Riselone, or something? I am thinking of pulling the glow plugss and filling top of cylinders with what? a BG product, solvent,or an amsoil product, or pb blaster to help dissolve the carbon in the rings. I know you guys know. You helped me solve the oil in the vapor problem on my vw tdi. Next, I would like to put a brush hog on this, however the pto shaft turns the wrong way, any brush hogs go either direction? Thanks for the hekp!!!!! Tim

1. Check all fluids, make sure every thing is in proper order. Get to operating temp and hook it to something that's gonna work it over a long period of time. Pull the snot out of it. This has worked for my Father and I.

2. I don't think any cutter has to rotate one way or the other, at worst you might have to flip the blades over.

Most cutters will rotate in one direction only, based on the cutter blades. Most blades will not accommodate being just flipped over to rotate in the opposite direction as they usually have an offset from the pivot pin plus the bevel cut on the cutter edge would be wrong.

Does the L2000 have a lever for switching the rotational direction of the PTO?

cutters have bevel gears only work one way, kubota L2000 sell it you will find nothing for it (ie parts, service) go to kubota.com search gray market, i tryed to get link but can't for some reason

Kevin, the only pto lever is for the 4 speeds to run the tiller. Kubots dealer said get a mower that the blades are not tapered and cut the other side, says that is what most are doing. Thank for the help, fellas. Tim

K2000 is like the old Farmall Cubs with the reverse PTO rotation. Unlike the Cub, there's just not a lot of implements, etc. , out there for the Kubota. For pull behind stuff, look for Cub implements. Can't say right off whether you'd run into issues matching splines on the shaft, but that'd be worth looking into, as well.

Thank you for the tractor site. It is quite helpful and i had no idea how many tractors were considered grey! I really don't understand the problem that the kubota dealers have when you ask for a part, either you have it and charge me double because you can, or else you don't have a clue, just skip the attitude about the grey issue. Thanks again fellas, you came through as always. Tim
