I just had to share this experience that I had at Tulare Diesel Showdown. My wife and I had the pleasure of taking Kwik Kurt's truck for a little spin:cool:

You press the go pedal, that turbo of his spooled up and away we went! It seemed that there was no wait... it spooled up Now...

It sounded so cool with those big stove pipes up the back of the cab. . don't get me wrong it was an awesome ride and sound.

I think I played this trip real smart because I took my wife along for the ride. As I went thru the gears with the whine of the turbo thru the stacks and that seat of the pants feel of power, this is the expression on her face:D :D :D . .

Maybe new parts for Red at Christmas

Hats off to Kurt for allowing me take his truck for a drive!!!!!

Thanks

Rick

As far as I know it was his quick spool HX40. But I got an email from Kurt on Monday and he had changed to a bigger one. He said. . guess what 'more power'. If it ran great last weekend,,I would love to drive it again. .

Rick

so

what are the pro's and con's compared to the Piers Modified HX35 aka Piers Super Turbo&reg

So many choices so little cash, you better do it right the first time.

Depends... ... on what you use your truck for and what power level you will goto. I am at the limit of the Piers Turbo, but I bought it knowing it. If you stay under 350hp there is no better choice then the Piers Hx35.

I'll be able to compare the two soon. I am leaving for a week but then comes a KwiKKurt HX40 12cm²

I wanna go faster in the 1/4 mile... ... ... ... ... ... ... . :D

Kurt is doing R&D on a new and more costly turbo called the B1 BOMBER he's very happy with the results so far. He says that the B1 BOMBER is good for 500+ HP:eek: :D and be dependable, wont blow up on us. I'm pretty sure I need one of these:D :D :D

That must be the one that he has on his truck now. The email that I got from him on Monday said that he had installed a bigger turbo. .

You guys could make money just by charging for drives in your high horse trucks. . Look what Disney charges for their rides:eek:

Rick

You guys have it right. I had the KS12cm2 in at Tulare Ca. And installed the (beta) B-1 Bomber turbo on sunday for the ride home. I hoped to have in for the drags but was a little slow getting it in.

IMHO

For stock up to 350HP Your money is best spent on Pier's SuperTurbo.

From 350hp to 450hp My KS12cm2 is best.

From 450hp to 500hp the KS14cm2 is better for slightly lower egt's.

If I get the (beta) B-1 Bomber Turbo Psi curves up higher on the low end It will knock out my KS14cm2 setup. It will not come close to the B-1 in low Egts, More Power!, and Reliability.

My Goal is Max HP useable for Towing.
