Who has one?

How many have you broken?

How many are still alive?

What are your fueling mods?

Where do you have the wastgate set?

What transmission do you have?

Are you afraid it will break?

I had one about 1000 miles. A few days before Christmas it blew up. I ran it hard as ever. Lots of fuel. I was at 403 HP when it let go. I was racing a rice rocket full of punks. They got a good laugh.

I found the exhaust pinwheel in the muffler. The shaft was half way down the exhaust system.

I knew it was a matter of time after some guys blew theirs up and I had ordered a larger housing to replace the 12 with. The housing did not show up in time:(

I now have the Piers modified HX40/18 and 16. I have not tried the 16 yet. Maybe tonight I will pop it on. I watch my boost and never exceed 38psi.

Don~

I had one.

I blew up one.

Awaiting a B1

Fueling mods in signature.

Wastegate was around 38lbs.

Auto!

Afraid - no I wasn't.

It did blow on me at the drag strip... . a few too many 8psi to 35 psi in less then a second launches. It survived about 30 passes, and the daily driving for about 3 weeks. I drive my truck kinda hard... ... ... ... ... ..... I was at 447hp before I added that turbo. Never dynoed with it, but it took me from 13. 95 to 13. 44. If Kurt could get the shaft to hold, I would snatch another one up in a heartbeat.

I have one. The 12cm2 housing was done by TST Products in Columbus, Indiana. It's off the truck right now, but I had it on there a long time, and it didn't blow. The sound was awesome, the throttle response was eye-popping.

No regrets about trying it, though. I'll run it again in warm weather for some 1/4 mile times.

You'd be better off getting an Hx40 from Piers, he has a new Super Hx40 that is built to be more durable, and with near zero lag. Without the excessive pressure that is probably the main culprit for the blown units with 12cm2 housings.

Piers' Hx40 uses a 4" outlet, and has slight modifications to eliminate the lag. He doesn't use 12cm2 housings.

www.piersdiesel.com look him up, get one !

I'm running a TST PM3, Competition, with a modified fueling curve & duty cycle. Also DD3's. I had a Van Aaken on there too. And propane. :D

Afraid of breaking the transmission? LOL. Enterprise Engine is 4 hours away, no problem.

I had one (Not from Kurt though) it lasted 5k and blew up on the dyno cresting 450 hp. I sure wish they would hold up because they work well. I am going to try a Piers Super HX-40 next and maybe a B-1 if I can get my hands on one.
