it will work fine on 500hp truck. but if you go futher and tow, twins might be required. but they should perform the neccessary on a 500... .

NO! Not at all! Not if you are at any altitude above, well, sea level!

I had a KSB-1-2 and with my setup (M3's and Drag Comp) at ANY altitude I could easily hit 1600*F (even at 1000 ft. in Phoenix, AZ with ambient temp of 40*F). I just had the exhaust housing switched to a standard housing (making my turbo a B-1-2) and while the EGT's are more manageble, they're not great still. I can still pull 1600*F at 1000 ft elevation and well over 1600*F at 5000' where I'm at now. Next step is to try a KSB-1 w/ the standard exhaust wheel to try and relieve more backpressure while still having the bottom end spool that I need/desire at my altitude.

My best advice is to call Ken at 602. 272. 5311 and ask him what will work best for you at your setup and altitude and for what you want to do with your truck. He's a good guy and will work with you to make you happy. Other choice is to give Pius (sp?) at Bell turbo a call and see what his recommendation is. I haven't delt with him, but Lucas has a USB from him and is happy with it.

One thing I will say about the B1 is that their strength and durability can't be matched by many other turbos.

go with the B1B i have the ksb1b with DD Super Mentals 125 edge drag auto 3. 54 DTT 89% Box ON 5x5 i can hit 1600 in a heart beat! i live in Saisbury N. C. i going to try the B1B this week also going to check drive press. with both. . i dynoed 472hp with the ksb1b love it in town

Runnin' that 6 speed there is no need for a Kwikspool. I have the B1b and it spools quick enough with my 6 speed. I haven't seen over 1100* on level 5 empty!

Weight empty is between 7200-7500 lbs depending on how much fuel I'm packing. At 1500' elevation I could pull 1450*F w/ box on 3x5 and it would climb to 1500*F. W/ box on 5x5 it went straight to 1450*F and then climbed to 1600+ fairly quickly. These runs were all made from 60 MPH w/ zero boost to full throttle... letting off around 90 MPH.

At 5000' elevation and box on 5x5 I can hit 1600*F in about 4 seconds... it hits 1400*F and then is a steady climb to +1600*F. Before I changed my housing to the standard one it would instantly go to +1600*F (I say +1600*F cause once the needle stops moving after it goes past 1600, I don't know how high it's actually going) on any Comp setting above 2x3. Now I can't go over 1400 if on 2x5, but can get to 1550*F on 3x5 and +1600 if I'm above that.

Spool up is still decent... I lost some by switching housings, but not much, maybe 200 RPM's if at full throttle. Used to hit 46-49 PSI boost on 5x5 though and now only hit 40-43 PSI, which is a good thing (headgasket). It also pulls much harder on the top end now than it did w/ the KS housing. May end up going to a KS housing and standard exhaust turbine... Ken said it'd be less back-pressure than what I'm running now, but roughly the same spool.

FWIW, Josh
