it's a real pain in the elbow. I've thought about a piece of foam but was hoping someone has a nicer solution. did any of the older (mines a 01') rams have a pad for your elbow?

I agree and had the same problem especially on long drives. What I did is went to Wal Mart in the sporting goods section and for $8 bought one of the neoprene elbow pads/supports that wrap around your elbow and attach with velcro. When I'm not using it, I just slide it onto the gear shift lever. Works great. Have over 8000 miles on mine and no wear. Hope this suggestion helps.

I bought a $4. 98 device from JC Whitney I wouldn't be without, it's called a trucker's armrest. It's just cheap plastic padded gizmo that slips in your window channel, gives you an armrest that you can move where you want horizontally. It is same level as the bottom of the window, which is perfect for me, I find that the stock armrest is too low. Been working great for me for four years, but it's hard to find in their catalog, you need to look at each page carefully and you still might miss it. I also saw one at an auto parts once. Best 5 bucks I've spent on my trucks!!!

Had the same problem on my last Chebby service truck. I bought a sponge at Wally World. Shirley made a cover for it and used velcro to attach it.
