So, ever so often my truck seems like the turbo drops out of it or it almost dead pedals as I am driving, it has happened twice within the last month. Usaully it happens when I am acclerating - getting on the highway, changing lanes - but I show no codes being thrown.

A/C on, power being applied, (3rd gear and 4th gear), no other common features. Fp pressure fine, Boost pressure common (comes up late???)

See sig for specs.

lift pump?

That's what mine did for 3 months... then i found out the lift pump was out. About 3 months after that, i replaced the injector pump (all out of warranty of course).

I wonder if you need to reset your APPS/ TPS..... Could you elaborate some more on what's happening?

I would try the easy stuff first like:

Resetting the APPS/TPS sensor.

Cleaning the MAP sensor.

Cleaning the IAT sensor.

It happens so rarely I dont have many more detials, it feels like it defuels for a few seconds, I need to replace the LP - about 10 pounds at cruise but has dropped to 6 lbs before at cruise.

I will search for the TPS cleaning steps.

Here go on the 911 forum Archive and look up transmission Problem- post # 9 lays it out for ya!

Your resetting it not cleaning it.

Did you throw the codes yet ?

What about checking all the grounds also?

So, I have had this truck since 7500 miles, all stock, FP gauge about 5,000 miles ago. It hasnt done this since I put the FP gauge on and it maybe once has dropped to 6 pounds of pressure.

Pulled codes, nothing. If the VP44 was losing pressure, wouldnt it throw a code?? Or would the Edge box intrecept it? I wouldnt think so bc it's just a boost fooler.

I am going to change the LP this week and see what happens. If it is the VP44 with the motor still under warranty (48,000 on a 75,000 powertrain) will a local Dodge dealer replace it?

did you make sure and wait through the full set of codes on the dash? after it says done the first time, it goes into another set of codes, that is where the 0216 will be if it is there

PCM check and ECM check, all clear, waited until it kicked back to the odo. No codes and none have ever shown up. Could it be the IAT?, I was reading around and noticed it can cause similar probelms - ie dead pedal, lack of performance - it is gettting hotter down here and that is when it has shown up in the afternoon when it is close to 100*

I guess it is possible, but everything i have read, even when there were no codes, the vp44 was on its way out. You might try resetting your APPS also. Do a search on dead pedal or lack of power and see how many dead vp's you find. Mine is going south right now also, but i have the code to match.

Clean that IAT sensor for kicks... .

But in the heat of the day- when it's real good and hot try this out- crack the fuel filler cap- if you hear a whooshing sound then your cap is beat- order up a new one... .

THanks for the ideas guys, it hasnt done it again but then again it was hit and miss anyway, I need to try a few things: replace LP with the new one I have, clean the IAT, pull the EZ for a run around town, etc.

Update - pulled the EZ off of this weekend and checked codes again after it was giving me a lot of dead pedal the night before.

Good times, it doesnt even have 50,000 miles on it yet. Appointment in the morning at the local Dodge house.
