Ladder bar or traction bar- having problem

LOOKING FOR SET OF TRACTION OR LADDERS BARS THAT ARE BOLT ON FOR A 04 REG CAB 4X4, LEVELING KIT ON FRONT,2" LIFT IN THE REAR , USE IT FOR TRUCK PULLING ONCE IN A WHILE ? SINCE I PUT AIR BAGS ON AND PUMPED THEM UP TO 90 LBS SO I WON'T LOOSE ANY HITCH HIEGHT IT NOW BOUCING ALOT FROM THE REAR .

Your reading my mind , called yesturday and ordered a set and they'll be here friday night and i'll install them and try them at the pull saturday night , have to pull my farm tractor duing the day and the my truck ( the tow vehicle ) at night ,

Holy cow, those are the most expensive traction bars I have seen to date. You could have bought the same thing from a lot of other companies for half that price.



You sled pull with bags at 90 psi? Your sled pull association has pretty lax rules as most will only allow 20 psi max in bags and then the compressor needs to be turned off or disconnected then they check pressure before they let you unhook from the sled if they even allow bags at all.



Is it bouncing when sled pulling down the track?

Yes , when i tried it for the first time , had worn bgd m/t's on the truck with no air bags,hooked to a national sled, got 2 nd place , lost by 3 feet, but with a stock rear suspension i lost alot of hitch hight, the next time i pulled, i had the same worn bfg m/t's and had air bags at 50 lbs and it bounced form the rear a little bit , this time i put new nitto tires on it , put the airbags at 90 lbs and when i left the line i was fine , i got about 60 feet into and it started bouncing in the rear of the truck bad, the most its ever done , the front is fine,no bouce or anything , i think this week end with new bars on, i ll put the rear tires down to 45 lbs and put air bags at 35 lbs and try that ?

You want to keep the rear tires aired up hard and the front ones aired down, to little air will cause the tires to flex and cause wheel hop even with traction bars.

I know that , i pulled a alky truck with a 650 cid for 15 years , i run 20 in the front and 55 in the rear the first time and 65 the second time , i'll run 55 again in the rear and the new bars will be on

Very nice guy to deal with,had to call for a couple of questions and he was right there , came in on time , put them on friday night at midnight and they worked a+ on saturday - very happy -



p. s. When drilling holes on fuel tank side - be very careful !!!! Drill walked on me a just ripped the tank,had to drain 35 gallons of fuel, dry the spot , rough it up and put water weld on it from jp - works well and is holding up fine-going to look for a replacement tank soon - if you have a new replacement cheap, let me know. .

Oops, sorry to hear that about your fuel tank, at least you fixed it, always check for clearance and if its going to be close put something in between, like a light gauge piece of sheep metal. If this was a gas job, you might not be here today...
