truck lags until you hit 1800 rpms and then runs great but then when you let off the gas and let the rpms drop down around 1400 rpms it lags untill you hit 1800 agin

when you plug in the edge it makes the problem even worse

could this be a problem with the pcm?

Engine in neutral, engine temp at least 140*, from idle, floor it and hold for a few seconds (you won't hurt it). Watch the tailpipe for smoke.

Does the engine go from idle to full RPM smoothly and quickly? Do it a few times watching both the tailpipe, and the tach.

Smoke?

Check your turbo. Engine off, disconnect inlet duct and spin the impeller wheel by hand. Spin easy? Keeps spinning for a few seconds?

Do the Key on/off procedure to check for codes (may or may not work on your year).

The original post was just a little off when you unplug the edge the truck runs worst in fact it goes no were. plugged in it will move and at 1800 acts just as it's intended. The only code that shows is P1963 that's with the DBR and the key code check. Dodge flipped out beca=use of the air dog and chip though they say map sensor othes are saying PCM and finally VP44 and this would be the second one in 230k. As much as I hate to I'm going to start at the cheap end and replace the map sensor first. The rest are to say the least a big hit to the pocket.

make sure your low boost fueling isnt set to 1 on your edge. this will cause areally slow acceleration until hit stride. if not then I would bet map sensor. But there is also another code to accompany that p1693. put your key in the ignition turn it from off to on to off to on to off to on leave it in on and watch your odometer area. it will flash your p1693 code and say done then wait a second and then it should flash another code after that and then it will say P-done.

Air filter clean. No air in, no air out to spool turbo. Stock turbo? Check for stuck wastegate.
Where are you located? May be some one close by that can drive it and help diagnose it.
