While wiring in a CB antenna, I noticed that the carpet padding was soaked with water. Passenger side was the worst by far. The sound-deadening rubber mat with high density foam going up the passenger foot well/firewall was soaked too, but not on the drivers side.

I did a search and found information on the third brake light and the AC drain being the main culprits. The only problem is that it was mainly happening with '99s. I don't have time to tackle this project this weekend, but I am going to fix this and dry it out next weekend.

Where is the AC drain on my '02? Just add a length of heater hose like on the '99s to solve that problem? I will just take some RTV to the third brake light. Any other places I should look? Next time it rains I will look at the window and passenger door.

Remove the air filter box and you will see the AC drain sitcking out of the firewall below the three plugs to the PC module.

I think you will need something a little larger than heater hose. The plastic hose from Home Depot works well, you will need about 12" to 18" and a hose clamp. Very easy fix.

Mainly happening with '99's? Hell, it happens with all second gen Rams, from 94 to 2002 as far as I can tell.

Just like the 'accurate' and 'reliable' fuel sending unit.

Happened in my 96, a freind's 95, and a host of others.

Drain hose for A/C

NAPA #9808 cost about $10.

5/8" hose with a 90* formed bend 3" x 14" fits on A/C drain.

Get under truck with flashlight and locate drain. Slip hose onto drain with S. S. hose clamp attached to hose. 1/4" drive with 12" ext. and socket that fits hose clamp. Max fix is 15 minutes.
