Competition Shelbyville Kentucky pull

Competition P7100 is a slug, do I need my VP44 back?

I put truck in 4x4, I build 10 psi boost, I get light, take off and truck falls on its face for couple of tenths then takes of after what seems like forever. I have the Hybrid 50. Whats the cure? Anyone else have this problem?

With the HX 50or B1,you need more than 10psi of boost to launch hard. I think 20psi is the minimum you need for a good launch with either turbo. The problem is unless you have both billet input, and output shafts you are taking a chance at 20 psi. 15 psi is usually safe though.

Thanks Snowman. I think I will get the output installed in the next couple of weeks. That is all I am missing in the transmission from DTT. We met at Texas Roadhouse in Muncie. Take care Kirk

kirk, you may need an anti defueling device for launch too :)

its known to be a big help

I agree. That is what it Sounds like. Sounds like you are getting some torque management from the ECM.

I have heard several of the guys talking about that at the strip. (Anti- defueling device) I believe Bullydog has one? I guess Iwill check around. Thanks

More boost staging

When I went from my PDRHX35 to my H2E, I had to re-adjust my staging due to turbo lag. It's most noticable on the street, but my H2E doesn't "come one" until nearly 20lbs. Your turbo should act similarly. I launch at about 18lbs and it hits pretty hard pretty fast after launch.

As Snow Man says, don't do it without your upgraded DTT billet stuff... I learned that one the hard way.

Check your MAP sensor. The symptoms you describe sound like what I have encoutered when racing with a malfunctioning MAP.

I doubt that you are defueling (or need a defuel box). Normally this problem doesn't occur until a truck is running in the 12's.

Just my $. 02 worth.
