It's been said before, and I'll say it again: Dodge trucks have the absolute worst advertising campaign ever. Actually, they have NO advertising campaign whatsoever. Are you listening, DC? I know advertising costs money, but it MAKES money too. I challenge anyone to open any automotive magazine and NOT see a big ad for GM heavy-duty, Toyota, and Ford heavy-duty. I cannot recall EVER seeing any Dodge truck ads anywhere - TV or print.
Now Toyota has surpassed Dodge in sales. Is it really any wonder? If I were not hopelessly addicted to researching Dodge trucks, where would I ever hear that there is a new generation of heavy-duty trucks out there? You can't throw a rock at a magazine rack without hitting one that has an ad in it for the other guys.
In the long run, the company with the coolest ads tends to win the most customers. I dream of the day when we see a Dodge/Cummins pulling a trailer loaded with a Phord and a Chebby out of a swamp.
Get some guts, DC, and put out some commercials that push the new HD's. This is just RIDICULOUS! I'm already sold on the Dodge/Cummins, and I'm still frustrated at the lack of ads!
Had to get that off my chest...
