Those of you that have changed tail lights... mine a flatbed with LED lights... can cause the puter to throw the "lamp out" warning and I don't see it in the puter to remove. Any suggestions? George
 
What is the wattage of the stock bulb? The problem is that the LED draws much less current than a stock bulb, so the computer thinks the bulb has an open filament. One fix is to solder a resistor in parallel with the LED to bring the current draw back up to something approaching stock levels. If we know the wattage of a stock bulb and the current draw or the resistance of the LED, then we can calculate the required total circuit resistance of the LED/resistor package and the size and wattage of the resistor that you would need to add.
