2003 diesel- the lamp out light comes on and the chime goes off. May be when I hit a bump but is off for a while and then will be on almost steady. Is there a fuse or wire that can be disconnected to shut this off? I am traveling so any quick fix would be appreciated.

I had the same thing... must be 'end of life' for '03 bulb filliments. Mine turned out to be a license plate bulb causing the alarm. Damn irritating alarm it was too. I replaced all the bulbs, just to be safe.

Their has been several discussions on this . What I discovered on mine that one of the tailight bulb connections was arcing occassionaly when going over bumps. Changed all of the tailight bulbs and all is back to normal again. (was driving me nuts)

Had a break light go out a few weeks ago, only chimmed in when you hit the breaks so it was easy to find. Bulb looked fine but when I replaced it, the alarm went away. Guess I better keep several on hand from now on.

There has been some problems with corision of the connections... . when you put the new bulbs in... . put some dielectric grease on the end of the bulb and into the socket to prevent the problem... .

I just returned from camping in Ontario and as we got underway, I signalled a lane change and the lamp out lit up and dinged. It started to ding on every little bump in the road, so we stopped and as my son look a last dip in Lake Superior, I pulled off the left tail light.

The bulbs all looked OK, but when I pulled the brake/turn bulb that wasn't working, I noticed the wire contact on one side had sort of embedded itself in the plastic rather than laying over it. I pried it up and scraped it lightly and got it working.

I liked the old days when the TS just wouldn't flash. Not crazy about nervous dingers and warning lights for a simple bulb out. :( And what's the deal about using the stupid TORX screws on the lamp housing? You get those out and still need a Phillips head for the bulb holder.

chime for light out fix.

Had the same problem while on extended trip with fifth wheel in tow. Drove me crazy, but finally figured it out. It was a tail light bulb that had got hot due to the way the wires are on the end of the bulb making a bad contact. In turn they had melted into the bulb plastic base and would make contact intermidtently. Easy fix, just look at each bulb base carefully, takes more time to take each light apart than anything.

I found the offending bulb with the 4-way hazards and thought I had fixed it. No problems on the rest of the trip. Today I towed my boat to the local launch and it was dinging like crazy. For a long time there was no warning light, but then I saw it flash a few times, so I must have something going on still.
