? if i leave the lights on high beam setting when put truck away for the night, when start up next morning and turn lights on i get "lamp out", if i change setting to regular beam, lamp out condition still exists, but if i cycle back to high beam condition the lamp out light goes out. anyone else have this experience - all lights are working!

You might have a loose connection on one of the bulbs are a defective bulb. Its probably some gremlin in the computer and you will have to take it to the dealer so they can put there master computer on it and see what it shows. I have never had this problem and don't remember it ever being brought up on here before.

Check all the bulbs, change all rear and turn sing bulbs to the type with glass bases. I bet you have plastic base bulbs, and if you look closeley, one of the rear bulbs, probiley has signs of the contact melting into the base.

Check both rear bulb assembly's. This is a three bulb socket board that holds backup, brake and signal bulbs. I had a bad board on the drivers side. For some reason the center bulb(I believe it was the brake light) fit becomes loose and it will give the "warning lamp out" signal even though no bulbs are out. John Homes wrote about this in one of that past TDR mags. It cost me $26 to replace this part. Do a search and you should find a post about this problem. Hope this helps.

i had read about the lamp out posts (prior to my post), i thought maybe mine was different since i seem to be triggering it via the high beam/low beam switch

I had this problem. When my Boss V-plow was installed, the maechanic has to unplug the wire harness from the light bulb. . This results in the truck thinking that there is an open circuit. To fix mine, i got behind the lamp assembly and disconnected the plow light wiring from the light assembly and plugged back in the normal light wiring assembly. . No problem now, except that when plow lights are on, only one works. I just use truck lights instead.
