My 4 year old son stepped on the cord and the jack inside is loose and not making a connection. The problem is, I can't get the case apart. I removed all the screws, (visible ones) the HD, battery, RAM. The case was loose all the way around, but still connected in the middle of the keyboard somehow. Anybody got some hints on how to get it apart?

TIA

If you look closely around the perimeter of the keyboard you should see some tabs that hold it in place. Use something thin and flexable (feeler gage works well) to pop the keyboard up. BE CAREFUL OF THE KEYBOARD RIBON CABLE, flip the keyboard over and under it you should see some more screws to remove.

Good Luck!

You didn't say what brand and model laptop it is. If you need parts, I found this place for you. . www.excelcomputerinc.com

They give instructions on how to remove an LCD screen, so maybe you can find instructions on how to remove the back, on the Internet.
