Laptop in truck question

I just got a free laptop. Not any great shakes of a system, but, I was thinking of putting it on the center console and hooking it up to my Garmin GPS for a constant display.



Has anyone done this? What kind of a mount do you use. I still gotta cary one front seat passenger, so, It has to go on the console.

I been using a big bungy cord around the console and the laptop in front of the keyboard. I only use it while going on long camping trips, it makes the console usless when the laptop is in there.



in my 02 with the auto, I was thinking of using a RAM mount I have and installing the laptop on a platform mounted off the floor.



Keep in mind you will have to throw your GPS receiver up on the dash to get a good signal all the time.



PS: I have found Delorme products to work very well, except for version 8 which had lots of mistakes on the map part.
