Laramie grill insert--how much??---and is it pretty easy to swap out??? thanks,R

The grill kit lists for $124. 20. I paid cost which is $75. 00. The install was very simple but you do have to remove the whole grill from the hood. I think it took me about 45 minutes to perform the job and I am slow and meticulous.

What all do you get with the grill insert. I would like the look you get with the (sport package) do away with the big crome part of the grill--painted the same color as the truck. Is this only possible with the sport package??

The Laramie grill insert is 2 chrome pieces that take the place of the black ugly waffel grill. you still use the chrome surround. If you want the "sport" grill look, you will have to sand the chrome plastic grill to rough it up, then paint it to match your grill, then get the Laramie inserts. Yes, most dealers that you bought your truck from will make you a very good deal on aftermarket parts. I know that the Laramie grill inserts were had at my dealer for about $79. Very easy to install I might add.

What you are looking for is what I did.



I wanted to order the sport grill as an option... . no can do .

I didn't like the sport package in the grey, even though it looks good in other colors. I ordered the sport grill at a local TDR event a month after I got the truck from the event-hosting dealer who was letting us order parts at employee cost, then I E-bay'd the original for $178 ( it had the Laramie insert ). Net cost for me was a couple hundred bucks. The only down side was I would have preferred the side moulding on the truck to be color matched instead of chrome. I've since gotten used to it.



If I was ordering the truck today, I'd work the dealer to swap it out before delivery and give him the extra couple of hundred, but I ordered over the phone and out of state, and the deal was too good to mess with minor stuff like that.

i think the honeycomb grill looks nicer than the plastic chrome bars [i dislike chrome except for wheels and exhaust tips] so i swapped mine out for the honeycomb ones...

Opinions are like butholes: everybody's got one! I swapped my grille for an 03 Laramie grille. I don't like the big chrome "lips" on the standard grille and I didn't want no chrome at all, so the 03 Laramie was a good compromise. My second choice was the sport grille with 04 laramie kit.

Damn, I gave my chrome grill away, didn't know it cost that much.

I got the sport pack but didn't like the openess of the grill, 5 or 6 bars looked buck-tooth to me. I paid $150 for a Carridge Works billet grill insert, non-layover and like it much more.

I would love to trade my '04 Laramie Sport chrome grille insert for the standard black honeycomb insert. If interested let me know.

The Laramie honeycomb inserts match up better with the SRT-10 hood, too.
