If I upgrade to a 6 disk cd player ($300) do I also get the 7 Infinity speaker system? I've asked the dealer and he cant give me a definate answer.

Not sure about that but I have a 24hr old 6 disc I'll sell you for $150!

My 2005 arrived on Friday with the 6 disc CD & I had the RB1 Navigation installed.

IIRC The Laramie PKG includes the Infinity as the "base" speakers regardless of which head unit you have. My Laramie has the 6 disk and Ininity speakers. The 6 disk was the only sound option I chose.

Hope this helps.

I have the H package, but my 6 disc changer did include the Infinity package. I believe it is standard no matter if you get H or J.

Sorry to say, but the laramie "J" package does not get the infinity speakers no matter what stereo you get, That is why it is only $300. 00 - that is just the stereo...

Better off IMO, then you can add a custom system without all the hassle of the amp wiring, etc

PS - the "J" package also does not come with the electronic 4x4 shifter, etc

PM me if you have any other questions

Will the 6 disc fit a 2004?

Should, but the plugs are sometimes different... though that is more an issue with 01's thru 03's (they switcheed from a double plug to a single white one)

should go right in

I can verify. . , my Laramie J package doesn't include the infinity crap, either. I specifically ordered the J instead of the H partially for that reason. For a lot less than the infinity package, you could get some JL Audio VR or XR speakers (the coaxial models will bolt right in) and a decent amp. They will definitely blow away the infinity system, which is only marginally better than the base system when compared with something that really sounds good. BTW, my non-infinity RBK CD stereo will be up for sale here shortly, in case anyone with lower model is interested.

My Infinity 11 speaker system is one of the best I have heard. You would be hard pressed to piece together an aftermarket system to beat it , unless that was your sole hobby. It is better than the high end Ford and Bose stuff GM sells. But be aware the 6CD changer Dodge has is fragile and will fail.

Some food for thought:

Focal 165 k2p components - $299

Rear fill speakers - $50

Jl audio stealthbox 10 inch sub - $350

Orion, Rockford, etc 4ch 400w amp - $300

TOTAL under $1000 bucks!

This is what I have in my truck, and It rocks way harder than the Infinity system... But I wish I had a those steering wheel mounted audio controls, bummer

So, anyone that wished they had the infinity system, dont worry, be happy!!
