Is the grill on the 2005's with the Laramie package still have only the center "+" part chrome and the outer "ring" painted? Personally I don't like the look of it that way. Anyone know?

I believe the Laramie grill is all chrome. The Sport package is what gives you the painted surround. Therefore, a Laramie with the Sport package will have the billet look center and painted surround. A regular Laramie will be all chrome.

Sport package everything is painted including cowling. grill is chrome.

Not sure about the Laramie option

My Laramie is all chrome.

Good to hear. I know that at least in the "early" 3rd gen's that the Laramie's had the painted surround and the chrome center. They also had the "fake wood" on the dash. IMHO the silver dash accents and the full chrome "SLT Style" grill is better looking.

Did some quick searching through the "reader's rides" section and it appears that the 2003's had the "half-n-half" grill and starting in 2004 they are all chrome with chrome bars in the "empty" areas (as opposed to the honeycomb grid in the SLT).

The bars look nice, but I gotta say that the honeycomb seemed to provide more protection for the insides.

Simple fix for that. On my Y2k Ram I simply ziptied some heavy duty window screen to the inside of the grill. You couldn't see it from the outside and it stopped everything including all the nasty bugs that used to collect in the fins of my intercooler, power steering cooler, A/C condensor and radiator.

Alright gentlemen

I think I can help with this, the 05 Laramie is all chrome. The 05 SLT's are the "Honeycomb" I wish I could have got the Laramie with the SLT's Honeycomb grill insert. If anything it holds the TDR grill badge on better.

Only the "03 Laramie" had body color frame with chrome cross. Sorry but with a chrome sport insert its the combo I like.

Man that's my favorite grille by far, and I was disappointed they DC'd it. When I had my '03 I PMed and emailed nearly every guy on TDR with a Pat Blue Laramie asking if they'd swap for my SLT grille and every one turned me down. I agree with Matt400, '03 Laramie grille with Sport inserts. . . that's IT

I tried to swap also but no takers, I ended up buying a new one from the dealer, they come painted. I then added the sport insert, turned around and sold the leftovers on ebay that reduced my cost.

about how much from the dealer

about how much from the dealer, and do they come painted, need white---thanks, R :)

Kinda does... but I bet you have ALL chrome. I wonder if DC put the sport inserts in an SLT frame to get the new Laramie or if something else is changed? Keep me posted on the Attitude/Juice for the 03 SO's. I may Beta test a Qzilla.

I don't remember cuz it was the first thing I changed 2 years ago. They do come painted to match. . just an easy bolt on.

Matt the main thing that stopped me from dropping the $$ to order one was I had concerns with the paint holding up because my truck was Pat. Blue. White I would've done it. I like the grille because it makes the grille look a bit smaller and sets the front end apart from the other trucks. It also sorta reminds me of an old 300C for some reason.
