You know where this is going!
I will open myself up to the rash of jokes and poking, but here goes.
In june of 2010 my 2 year old lab spotted something in the brush. I'm guessing with her keen smelling. Later that evening I smelled it. Very foul. And it was 200+ away.
This smell spooked her so bad that when I brought her into the house she ran to the basement and hid. When I found her she was shaking!
For several days she was very nervous outside and stayed at my side like a little child.
This odor would come and go like the wild game.
Speaking of the game, deer, turkey, coyotes were plentiful in the weeks/months prior but were gone mostly for a year after this first odor event.
I would see deer morning and night out back and out front am and pm. Only one or two were seen anywhere for a year after the odor. I would hear coyotes every evening too and that stopped the same way.
Then, this past august, I walked out to the tree line--200 feet-- about 10:30 pm and stood still listening. Dog stayed at the door. Earlier this day she acted like the odor was back.
After 7-10 minutes of standing still and being quiet, I hear heave slow foot steps. Made me think of the thumping steps on 'jurasic park', but of course it was closer and softer.
After 7-8 steps I yelled "who is there". The steps stopped and after 5 seconds a deep 'hoo ahh' came back. I had to be a sight with all my hair standing up! Then Coyotes started hollering maybe 300 yards to my right.
With no gun on my I said' self, go get a gun'.
There are many foot prints that I will show at some point.

I don't drink or do drugs and I want some input from you guys/gals.
I don't want or need sarcasm, and won't be critical of those who do a little of it. This is real and I'm very curious what this is in my tree line and creek.
