Poking around under the hood this weekend and what I thought was the injection pump isn't. Injection pump is under it.

What is the thing above it? What does it do?

There isn't anythng above the CP-3 unless it is an add-on. There are only 2 accessories on the driver side of engine, PS pump is on the bottom and CP-3 is on the top.

Engine mounted APPS on a 6 speed? They are rumored to exist but never seen one.

Pictures, we need pictures.

Here is a pic. No engine brakes I am aware of?

Yep, now we have proof they exist. LOL!!

APPS - Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor

That is the drive-by-wire engine controller. Normally on a 6 speed they were under the drive side battery. Something to do with the truck being ordered with cruise control instead of speed control or some such build glitches.

Here is a pic of the cruise buttons. So i have something rare? Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Sorry pic sucks it is dark.

Woops!! No picture attached. :)

It is rare and not neccessarily a bad thing. The under battery APPS is a pain to get at times, the engine mounted one is available from Timbo all the time.

Do you also have a vacuum pump on the passenf=ger side behind the battery and a line running the to the cruis control actuator?

You have the early style CC buttons, I wonder if the manual trans trucks with the early CC (early '03) have the engine mounted APPS and the newer CC buttons gets the battery tray APPS.

We already know there are some delineations for cruise control controlled idle based on button design.
