Large Middle Console???

A while back there was a link to the new 06' interior with a pic of a middle console that was raised up to the seat level coming out from the dash. It was finished in plood as well.

Now, every 06' that I see pics of, has the normal 2" off the floor console. Anyone know if this is a special option item or what?

I'm kinda wondering... From the looks of it (woodgrain & dual-zone HVAC), I would guess that may be a Laramie only thing?????

KBB.com shows Dodge offering a bucket seat package on the 06's, from the looks of it that is the console that goes with the buckets.

Modifed/Replaced Center Seat Cushion

Has anyone considered removing the lower portion of the center "seat" and converting that space into a "command & control" center. My cab is a bit cluttered with a CB, brake controller, cool down timer, laptop, trailer camera monitor, iPod, switches for aux lighting, gauges, etc.....



I'd like to keep the upper arm rest functional for the comfort and storage.



I don't want a homemade looking center section. The jet fighter consol look would be nice. I have never used the center seat for seating.



Any ideas??
