2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Largest tire on a Dually

I have searched and there really isn't much being said. What is the largest tire i can run on an 02 Dually. Im more worried about the front tires rubbing suspension parts than anything. So i guess the question is, what is the largest tire that will fit on the stock rim and not rub up front. As for the rear what spacers if any would i need to fit the same width.

well dieselnut is running a set of 285s on 19. 5 rims 0n his 03 4x4 and has no problems up front but my 2x4 I don't think I would want to go any bigger than a set of 255s.

i RUN 255x85x16 which in turn is a 34. 3" tire. On 02 ,01 ,00 trucks you can fit this size stock. In another words



if it came with 235's then 255's will fit.

if it came with 215's then 235's will fit.



The real limit are the rims. with only 6. 5 inches of width there really is not too much I would be willing to stuff on there as the sidewall to rim section ratio is a lil' off whack at that point.

so the 255x85 fit with no spacers, and no rub? If so that sounds like the ideal tire. What tire are you running so i know the overal width since it seems it can vary up to 3/8 if an inch, multiply that by 2 and i could have some probs... . even with the same tread width. You pull any decently heavy loads with those on. I to often have 2-3k in my bed and would be concerned on the buldge. Thanks for the help so far.

Well i just got the BFG mud terrains mounted (255x85/16) and you were telling the truth, heh. Tossed the 3800lb towmotor from work in the bed and no rubbing. Thanks for the help man. Made a world of difference in looks and crawling around in the snow.
