My 2001 ram cummins 4x4, Quad cab, auto, 3. 55 rearend, has 245/75 R-16 tires. I understand the odometer for has 3 settings for three different size tires that can be made by the dealer in a matter of minutes. One is 245/75R16 another is 265/75R16.

WHAT IS THE LARGEST TIRE THAT CAN BE PUT ON THE TRUCK WITH THE STOCK DEALER ODOMETER SETTING ?

Not positive but I think the 265's are the biggest, 245's next step down and then the 235's for the dually configuration.

i thought the 235/85 on the duallys was a tad bit larger than the 265/75 ???

if so thats as big as it gets , yes they can change the correction factor in the computer , takes 5 minutes , i was charged 60 bucks to have it done on my 98.

Sizes

In my past I have found the 235-85-16 are 1/2" taller and almost 3/4 to 1" narrower then the 265-75-16 . My 01 came with 265 and I put on 285. I see a diff of 1. 5 mph at 65 on the speedo, (faster). I was told a dealer could change the computer to make 285's work. The cost they said was about $65. 00. All depends on who you talk to.
