Ok thinking of installing LarryB's heat shield on the turbo, but wondering on down the line if this would interfere with changing out turbo housings or installing my BD brake I'm hopefully gonna get in the next couple of months?

I can't comment about the brake but it is held on by 3 screws to the compressor housing. Removing it would be the easiest part of changing a housing.

shield noise???

will this shield cut some of the turbo noise?? also why are these shields used , just for underhood heat??

No noise reduction, the idea (and it works) is to keep heat away from the air filter and other underhood items.

I have both a Larry B heat shield and a Mallory Mount for my BHAF, after driving for a half hour, the Mallory Mount (and air cleaner) are cool to the touch.

The idea is to reduce heat getting to the air filter as Extreme 1 said. I have a BHAF currently just sitting on the factory box screws (that are covered by plastic fuel line) and I want to try and make it a little more efficent.

I like the Mallory Mount and Rob Thomas's version, but think I'll fab my own and save some $$. :D

As my shields mount to the compressor side housing it will not cause a problem with the e-brake or changing the exh housing. AND, If you have any problems, I'll make ya a custom one :) .

Mark,

If you have a chrome kit, it's another shiny thing to look good.

Don't have a Chrome kit but would love the Valve covers, not sure about the intake horn though?

Where can I get them and how much?

It's a Cummins product so you will need to check with them. The kit might not be available any more for all I know. The complete kit is six valve covers, intake manifold, generator bracket, and heater pipes. It really looks good all shined up. Even dusty like mine is most of the time it looks good. I usually get comments like "WOW!" when I open the hood. The intake horn is especially nice. The whole thing was $300 plus. I don't remember the exact price.

:--) Shoulda figured. My checking account has to recover from everything I bought last week '00 Towing mirrors, LarryB contact kit, Snap On/Blue Point impact (for work), and an air compressor for my Grover!

Once I recover then I gotta get a flywheel to do my clutch swap!
