Wowzy. . u ain't kiddin... we were watching the race with the surround sound on and I thought there was a train stuck nearby... finally figured out it was on TV.

We don't have surround at our house (Mom does though). I had a question about the "crank it up" thing that Fox does. Do they have a couple of mike's set up so that it sounds like the cars are passing you on the track? If so, we may be watching the next race at Mom's.

Although the race is broadcast in surround, the "Crank It Up" is just a gimmick to get you to crank up your volume. But yes they probably have a couple of mics picking up the sound.



It sounds pretty good on my Harman Kardon/ Infinity system, but I wish my Dish reciever could put out DD5. 1 or DTS like my HK DVD player and Xbox does. Dish sells a DD5. 1 adapter for my Dish5000 reciever. I might check into one of those.
